ARDC Race at Flemington on June 21 Will Be a Regular Show

BRODHEADSVILLE, Pa., May 13 – The 33-lap American Racing Drivers Club (ARDC) CARQUEST Midget Series "Mini-Indy" race scheduled for Saturday night, June 21 at Flemington (N.J.) Speedway has been changed to a regular ARDC show on that same night, Mike Roselli Sr., ARDC's business manager, and Paul Kuhl, the track promoter, announced today.

It joins two other ARDC CARQUEST Midget Series point events at the five-eighths-mile paved oval on Saturday, May 24 and Saturday, July 26. The pit gate opens at 3 p.m. with warm-ups at 5 p.m. for the point events.

A fourth ARDC event, a special non-points "First Feature" program for drivers who have never won an ARDC feature, will be held Sunday, Aug. 31 at Flemington. The pit gate opens at 3 p.m. with warm-ups at 5 p.m. for the "First Feature" program.

The Flemington Speedway track management tried to work out an arrangement where Northeastern Midget Assn. (NEMA) teams would also compete in the ARDC-sanctioned event on June 21, but were unsuccessful due to a NEMA date conflict. Therefore, the plans for the Mini-Indy race were changed to the regular exciting ARDC CARQUEST Midget Series program consisting of heats and a 20-lap feature.

Prior to heading to New Jersey for the first Flemington show on May 24, the ARDC CARQUEST Midget Series travels to Dixieland Speedway in Elizabeth City, N.C., on Friday night, May 16. The third ARDC CARQUEST Midget Series date scheduled for the month is Friday, May 30 at Albany-Saratoga Speedway
in Malta, N.Y.

In June the series appears at Southampton (Va.) Speedway on Friday, June 13; Langley (Va.) Raceway on Saturday, June 14; Flemington on Saturday, June 21; and Jennerstown (Pa.) Speedway on Saturday, June 28.
