Late Model Champion - Gary Pelletier Injured

Stafford Springs, CT — Defending Stafford Motor Speedway Late Model champion, Gary Pelletier suffered significant injuries during a turn-one crash in the 30-lap Late Model feature on June 26th. Pelletier incurred a broken right scapula in addition to a bruised sternum, knee and wrist.

“We’re done for the season,” said Pelletier from his home in Hartford, Connecicut on Monday, June 29th. “Besides my shoulder, the car and engine are a total loss.”

Brett Bodine Returns to Stafford Motor Speedway July 17th

Stafford Springs, CT — NASCAR Winston Cup Series regular Brett Bodine will revisit the Stafford Motor Speedway on Friday night, July 17th. Bodine’s visit coincides with the ‘Stafford Salutes NASCAR at 50′ program and its’ selection of the 50 Greatest Modified Drivers of All-time, of which Brett is included. “It’s an absolute privilege to be recognized for this honor,” said Bodine from the offices of Scandia-Bodine Racing in Mooresville, NC. “My time at Stafford and in the Modified division was a short but special period in my career. It’s refreshing to know it hasn’t been forgotten. I anxiously await to accept this honor.”
