Tonight we held the “Boston Louie Seymour” Memorial race here at the Seekonk Speedway. It was a perfect night with a banner crowd ready to witness the evening’s events.
The N.E.M.A. Midget feature went off without a hitch. Drew Fornoro in the Gene Angelillo #45 took the early lead and looked like he would walk away with the silver. However, when a caution was thrown on the field it tightened everything up and gave Bobby Seymour the advantage that he needed to take the lead away from Drew. What a mob scene in victory lane as the Seymours along with well crewmembers, fans and well wishers all crowded around Bobby to congratulate him on his Victory. A tearful photo session and interview with the Seymour family were commemorating the event followed.
In the Pro Stock’s it was a great race for the Tantasia group as Wayne Dion worked his way through traffic and took the lead in the closing laps of the feature. Again, it looked as though Mike Hassell might make his debut in Victory Lane, but again fell just short of the checkered flag. This young man is long overdue. He manages to hold onto a good number of laps each week and then just before the checkered flag drops he ends up in the bride’s maid’s tribute.
