Tim Jordan Finishes Waterford Season With a Seventh Place Result

Waterford, CT — Sunday’s 100 lap finale at Waterford Speedbowl (CT) looked promising for Tim Jordan. With a day of testing on Friday, a second place qualifying run in his heat race on Saturday and a ninth place start on Sunday, it looked as if he could capture his sixth win of the season.

Unfortunately, while running second with only three laps to go all chances of a win diminished and he was just hoping to keep his car in one piece.

“At the beginning of the race we just kind of paced ourselves a little bit to get going,” Jordan said.

After a long green flag run, and running in second place, Jordan spun out.

“It’s one of those things that doesn’t happen too often,” he said. “The car got really loose and the tires were worn out at that point. I was pushing it hard to try to catch the leader and made a little bit of a mistake.”

Jordan restarted the race in seventh place, the last car on the lead lap.

“Unfortunately when the yellow comes out with three to go and you have to go to the back, it doesn’t leave you much time to make up for your mistakes.”

Jordan was disappointed with his finish in the finale, but happy with his season.

“It’s kind of a bummer, I haven’t spun a car out since I started racing, like when I was 17, which only about four or five years ago, it’s not like it was too long ago, but it’s still frustrating when you make the mistake. But we have five wins this year at Waterford and we didn’t run a full season.

As for his racing plans for the rest of the year, Jordan says he’s done.

“We’re all over. That was our last race for the season.”
