“Pole” on the Pole Again at Chittenden Milk Bowl

Teenage American-Canadian Tour (ACT) stock car racing sensation Joey “Pole” Polewarczyk, Jr. of Hudson, NH lived up to his nickname at Thunder Road International Speedbowl on Saturday afternoon, setting fast time in Booth Bros./H.P. Hood time trial qualifying for the 44th Chittenden Milk Bowl. With a best lap of 12.967 seconds around the high-banked ¼-mile oval, Polewarczyk earned $1,000 and the pole starting position for Sunday’s three-segment, cumulatively scored race for the second straight year.

Polewarczyk will be joined on the front row of Chittenden Milk Bowl Segment I by former ACT Late Model Tour Champion Dave Whitcomb of Essex Jct., VT, who was locked into the starting lineup based on his best lap 13.092 seconds. White Mountain Motorsports Park Track Champion Quinny Welch of Lancaster, NH was locked into the third starting position with a lap time of 13.124 seconds.

Beers Wins CARQUEST Bud Pole; Matthews, Lanagan & Stirk Score Wins

Stafford Springs, CT — Stafford Motor Speedway kicked of its 35th Annual CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend on Saturday, September 29th with qualifying for the Whelen Modified Tour, qualifying for its NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions, and feature events for the SK Lights, Limited Late Models, and DARE Stocks.

In Whelen Modified Tour Bud Pole qualifying, it was Eric Beers setting the fast time of 18.267 seconds. After the Bud Pole redraw, the two championship contenders, Donny Lia and Todd Szegedy, will occupy the front row for Sunday’s 150-lap event with Szegedy on the pole and Lia on the outside pole. Beers redrew the 7th starting position.

Szegedy, Lia on Front Row for CARQUEST Fall Final at Stafford

Stafford Springs, CT — Challenger Todd Szegedy (No. 2 Wisk/Snuggle Ford) and points leader Donny Lia (No. 4 Dodge) will start on the front row for Sunday’s Carquest Fall Final at Stafford (Conn.) Motor Speedway after Saturday’s redraw following qualifying.

Lia and Szegedy had the third and fourth fastest times, respectively, during Saturday’s time trials. Following the redraw of the top eight spots, they will start on the front row.
