Championship Run Heats Up For True Value Modifieds

With only two races left on the 2007 scehcule, the True Value Modified Racing Series returns to action Saturday and Sunday Oct 6, 7, at the famed Seekonk Speedway, Rte 6, Seekonk, MA., for the running of the D. Anthony Venditti Memorial Festival of Racing, and again this season, the chase to the championship is going down to the wire with only one more race remaining after this weekend’s event, at Lee, NH., to decide the title.

14 points is all that separates two time champion Kirk Alexander, Swanzey, NH., and second place point man, Les Hinckley, Windsor Locks, CT. Both drivers have been victorious at Seekonk.

Also expected for the special two day event, are defending race champion, Dave Berghman, Rehobeth, MA., Vinnie Annarummo, Swansea, MA., a two time winner at his hometown race track this season, Chris Pasteryak, Lisbon,CT., Jimmy Kuhn, W.Bridgewater, MA., Rob Goodenough, Swanzey, Mike Holdridge, Madison, CT., Bryan Shumway, Belchertown, MA., and Ed Dachenhausen, Danbury, CT.

Pit gates will open at 8 AM on Saturday, October 6, with practice for all divisions from 10 AM to 1:15 PM.

Grandstand gates will open at 11 AM.

The True Value Modifieds will compete in 12 lap heat races on Saturday as well as a 15 lap consolation race to determine starting positions in Sundays 100 lap feature race.

On Sunday, the TVMRS will be part of the speedways annual pit party, where drivers and their racers are brought out onto the track allowing fans to see the cars up close, take pictures, get autographs, and ask questions. The annual on track get together will last until 11:30 A.M. A practice session will follow in advance of the afternoons major events. The first feature will begin at 1:00 PM.
