Phillips is 32nd Auto Racing Promoter of the Year

Lake Mary, FL — In the Grand Ballroom at the Orlando Marriott Lake Mary, February 11, Lynn Phillips, promoter of Talladega (AL) Short Track, was revealed as the Thirty-Second Auto Racing Promoter of the Year by Racing Promotion Monthly, the idea newsletter for auto racing promoters.  Phillips received the industry’s most prestigious award on his seventh nomination.  The ceremony was part of the Speedweek National Workshops, the concluding event of the Thirty-Fifth Annual RPM Promoters Workshops Series, forums and trade shows for promoters, which will conclude Wednesday, February 13, at the hotel.  The Auto Racing Promoter of the Year is selected annually in balloting by promoters nationwide.

Honored as Regional Auto Racing Promoters of the Year were Mark Arute, Stafford (CT) Motor Speedway; Howard Commander, Lebanon Valley (NY) Speedway; Lynn Phillips, and partner Alfred Gurley, Talladega (AL) Short Track; the Nuckles Family, Columbus (OH) Motor Speedway; Les McBurney, Angell Park (WI) Speedway; Joe and Tracy Clay, I-30 (AR) Speedway; C-Ray Hall, 81 (KS) Speedway; and Joe & Walt Doellefeld, Stateline (ID) Stadium & Speedway.

“Live To PASS” Set To Debut on RaceTalkRadio.com March 18th

Charlotte, NC — Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model Series Officials and RaceTalkRadio.com are proud to announce the addition of a brand new show to join RaceTalkRadio.com’s lineup of successful internet radio shows. “Live To PASS” will air every Tuesday night at 7:30pm Eastern beginning on March 18th.

“The PASS Series is a series that we really wanted to step up our coverage of in 2008,” said Dennis Michelsen of RaceTalkRadio.com. “Last year’s coverage of the PASS South Series with Alan Dietz, as well as racing in the Mid-Atlantic region, was very popular with our fans. Speedbowl Veteran Don Fowler Prepares For 2008 Season

When it all began in 1968, Don Fowler probably never envisioned becoming one of the “Elder Statesmen” of the SK Modifieds at the Waterford Speedbowl.

“Hard to believe it’s been that long, but it has,” states the 58 year-old Fowler who plans on yet another season at the shoreline oval.
