Track Walk to Benefit Speedway Children’s Charities

Fans will have the opportunity to walk the 1.058-mile New Hampshire Motor Speedway while supporting a great cause – children.

Proceeds from the walk will benefit Speedway Children’s Charities, the Kenny Irwin Jr. Memorial Foundation, Victory Junction Gang Camp and the NASCAR Foundation.  All of these organizations provide vital services to children in need.

Directly following the NASCAR Nationwide Series Camping World RV Sales presented by RVs.com 200 race, fans will be able to walk the racing surface, cross the start/finish line, and experience the track from another perspective.

“This is a great opportunity for race fans to walk their ‘Field of Dreams’ here at New Hampshire Motor Speedway,” said Jerry Gappens, executive vice president and general manager of the speedway. “In addition, it is a wonderful way to help raise money for children.”

Fans are able to form teams when they register for the walk, and may set fundraising goals online.  Teams who reach their goals will receive special recognition.

Walkers can register online at www.foundation.nascar.com or at New Hampshire Motor Speedway outside Turn 2 on Friday, June 27, from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and on Saturday, June 28 from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The cost to participate is $30 when registering online and $35 at the track.  Children under 14 walk for free with a registered adult.

Tickets are still available for the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 on June 29, and the SYLVANIA 300 on September 14. For more information, visit online at www.nhms.com or call the speedway Ticket Hotline at (603) 783-4931.  All ticket holders who purchase a ticket prior to Wednesday, June 25, 2008 will be eligible to win a $500 Sunoco gas card, watch the SYLVANIA 300 from a luxury suite, or have their mortgage or rent paid until December, 2008.
