NASCAR Stock Car Racing Commission Statement On Appeal by NWSMT Car No. 1

NASCAR Stock Car Racing Commission Statement:

On October 1, 2008, the National Stock Car Racing Commission heard and considered an appeal regarding three penalties issued by NASCAR to the No. 1 car following post-race inspection on September 20, 2008 for the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour event at Martinsville Speedway.

Briefly, the penalties concern Section 12-4-A of the NASCAR Rule Book “Actions detrimental to stock car racing.”; Section 12-4-Q (1): “Any determination by NASCAR Officials that the car, car parts, components, and/or equipment used in the Event do not conform to NASCAR Rules.” and Section 20D-6.1.1B. “Ignition system wires must be continuous from the start connector to the end connector.  Splices, bare and punctured wires will not be permitted in the ignition system: Spliced wire from the purple wire out of the ignition amplifier box.”

Monadnock Speedway Rules Meetings Coming Up

Modified Meeting…On Thursday, October 30th, the management of Monadnock Speedway will hold a meeting regarding the return of the Modifieds in 2009. The meeting will include the rules, schedule and purse structure. The modified division would be based on a ‘tour type” modified, blending rules from the True Value Modifieds, Whelen Modifieds, SK type Modifieds and the option to run a crate engine. Anyone who is interested in competing in a modified at Monadnock Speedway is encouraged to attend the meeting.  The meeting will be held at the Winchester VFW (located on Main St) at 6pm. If you are unable to attend and would like to be placed on the mailing list for the rules, please call or email the speedway’s office.

Rules Meeting…On Saturday, November 1st, the management will hold the annual rules meetings at the Winchester VFW (located on Main St) for the Outlaw Pros, Super Stocks and Mini Stocks. The management will also have a short meeting with the Late Models that competed at the speedway during the 2008 season to discuss options for 2009. The meeting times are as follows: Mini Stocks – 10am, Super Stocks – 11am, Late Models – Noon and Outlaw Pros at 1pm. The rules meetings are designed to discuss options to keep the divisions competitive at an affordable cost. Due to time, the discussions at the meeting will be limited to technical rules for the 2009 season only.  Any suggestions on race procedures, rules and regulations may be discussed by calling the speedway’s office.   If a competitor is unable to attend the meeting and has a suggestion for the rules, please email or call the speedway’s office.
