Dave Davis Motorsports and Joey Pole Set to Tackle the Toyota Showdown

19-year-old Late Model Sensation Joey Pole and Dave Davis have struck an agreement that will allow the Hudson, N.H. native to race the #03 Dave Davis Motorsports NASCAR CWE Chevrolet in the 2009 Toyota Showdown at Toyota Speedway in Irwindale, CA on January 23-24, 2009

Joey Pole wheeled the #03 Chevrolet at New Hampshire Motor Speedway last September and more than raised a few eyebrows with a fantastic top 10 finish after receiving some early race damage.

“I believe Joey has what it takes to succeed at the next level in his race career, we are very pleased that this deal came together” said, Davis.

“This is the biggest race in Joey’s life; I just know he can do it. We have worked so hard to get a shot like this, now it’s his time to shine” added Joey’s Father; Joe Polewarczyk Sr.

This prestigious preseason event which is dubbed the “Daytona 500 of short-track racing” will be aired live on SPEED, which has broadcast the event in each of its first five years. Broadcasts will begin at 7 p.m. PT each night.

A full day of on-track activity kicks off for the NASCAR Camping World Series on Friday, Jan. 23 with practice and qualifying, leading up to the 250-lap feature race on Saturday, Jan. 24.

Other positions in the starting lineup will be determined through time trials, which are slated for 6 p.m. on Friday, and limited provisionals for NASCAR Camping World Series regulars. Rounding out Friday’s activity for the NASCAR Camping World Series will be a “Last Chance Open” race at 9:10 p.m. that provides drivers one final opportunity to make the final 40-car starting grid for Saturday’s feature race (all times listed Pacific Time Zone).
