NASCAR Whelen Modified Date At Chemung Cancelled

Event Scheduled For Aug. 29 Was Rained Out

Daytona Beach, FL — NASCAR and Chemung (N.Y.) Speedrome have announced that the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event at the track, that was rained out on its originally scheduled date of Aug. 29, will not be made up this season.

“We worked really hard at trying to find a suitable date to reschedule and unfortunately, we just weren’t able to find one,” said Chad Little, series director of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. “We looked at several options with the promoter, John White, and discussed those with the competitors, but it just wasn’t going to be possible. We were really looking forward to racing at Chemung. The track has a lot of Modified racing history and the fans up there are great.”

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will next race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, Sept. 19. The New Hampshire 100 is set to go green at 1 p.m. in Loudon, N.H.
