No. 09 NWMT Penalized for Rules Violations

Daytona Beach, FL —  NASCAR announced today the car No. 09 team that competes in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour has been penalized as a result of rules violations committed Saturday, Sept. 19 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, N.H.The team was found to be in violation of Section 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing; failure to follow the directives of NASCAR) of the 2009 NASCAR Touring rule book. The violations occurred during pre-race on Sept. 19.

Bobby Grigas III, driver of car No. 09, has been suspended for the next two NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour events, suspended from NASCAR until Oct. 7, and placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31.

Brad Sears, crew chief of car No. 09, has been suspended for the next two NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour events, suspended from NASCAR until Oct. 7, and placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31.
