North-South Shootout Live on RaceTalkRadio.com by 51 Radio

Fans Around the Nation Can Hear Prestigious Mod Race & Inaugural Super LM Event

Concord, NC — Racing fans around the East Coast will be converging on Concord Speedway in North Carolina this week for the 7th annual North-South Shootout.  Now those who can’t make the trek to the Mid-Atlantic can still enjoy some of the flavor of the prestigious event.  Officials from the North-South Shootout, in addition to 51 Radio and RaceTalkRadio.com, announced today that the Modified Portion of the event (the John Blewett III Memorial), as well as the inaugural CRA sanctioned Super Late Model race, will be broadcast over internet radio.

Fans at the track will be able to catch spectacular racing action at Concord Speedway, including Tour-Type Modifieds, SK Modifieds, TBARA Sprints and Super Late Models, but for those that cannot make it to the track, Speed51.com, the internet leader in short track racing news coverage, will be on hand to provide blanket coverage of the event, including live play-by-play radio coverage, a 51 Radio production to be aired on RaceTalkRadio.com.  The broadcast is scheduled to begin on Saturday at approximately 2pm.

“The Speed 51 and RaceTalkRadio partnership has brought fans many of the biggest races of the season and we are proud to add the North-South Shootout to our lineup,” said Dennis Michelsen, owner of RaceTalkRadio.com. “We encourage fans to get to the track to see this event in person, but if you can’t make it, enjoy it on RaceTalkRadio.com.”

The event will not only be broadcast online, but also at NASCAR’s event at Texas Motor Speedway via the Racing Electronics airwaves.  Using your scanner, you can tune into frequency 454.5000 to hear all the action.

“I will be out in Texas with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, but I know a lot of us in the garage will be getting together to listen to the North-South Shootout,” said Bob Dillner, SPEED reporter and Speed51.com Executive Editor.  “It’s become one of the most prestigious Modified races in the country and now that they’ve added the Super Late Models as well, it’s really one of the ‘Mac-Daddy’ events.  I know there’s going to be a great crowd there, but for all of us who can’t make it, listening to RaceTalkRadio.com is the next best thing.”

Speed51.com will also be on hand throughout the weekend to provide Trackside Now coverage of the event through the website.

“It’s one of my favorite races of the year,” said Matt Dillner, co-owner of Speed51.com.  “I am excited to be able to call the races with Duke Kentfield and Elgin ‘Stat-Boy’ Traylor this weekend.  Jason “Stix” Buckley will be conducting the Trackside Now coverage on Speed51.com so fans will be able to get an unbelievable interactive experience.  There will be pictures, quotes from the drivers and even some videos on Speed51Video.com.  Combine that with the fact that FOX Sports South is going to televise the events on November 28th and it shows how big this event has gotten.”

Speed51.com is one of the most popular short track racing websites in the country, which led parent company 51 Sports to create 51 Radio, an online show featuring in-depth analysis of all the hottest racing news and interviews from the sport’s biggest personalities every Tuesday night on RaceTalkRadio.com.  In addition, 51 Radio is producing some of the biggest radio events of the year, including the 42nd Annual Snowball Derby, the 26th.

RaceTalkRadio.com ownership combines NASCAR writers Dennis Michelsen and Mike Harper with the creative talents of digital media artist Lori Munro. This unique blend has produced some of the most cutting-edge programming in the racing industry.  RaceTalkRadio has grown from a single show years ago to four nights a week of race talk entertainment, becoming the Internet’s leading original-content broadcast outlet for racing news and information.

51 Sports is the parent company of two of the largest short track racing news websites, Speed51.com and LegendsNation.com.  Since 2001, Speed51.com has been the home for short track news and behind-the-scenes stories from series all around the country, from ARCA and NASCAR’s Touring Divisions, to the Super Late Model and Modified series from all across the country and much more.  Speed51.com also received a graphical overhaul in February 2009, as the site entered its ninth season of covering the short tracks from coast-to-coast and Canada.  Launched in 2006, LegendsNation.com is the only authority on Legends Car and Bandolero racing news, rumors and more.
