Waterford, CT — Waterford Speedbowl hosted Scout Night on Saturday evening and completed a briskly paced five-division NASCAR Whelen All-American Series race program. Scoring top honors were Keith Rocco making it two-straight wins in the SK Modifieds® and four on the year, Tim Jordan returning to the winner’s circle in the Bob Valenti Auto Mall Late Models and Al Stone III won his first of the year in the Street Stocks. Sean Caron scored a career first victory in the Norwich Bulletin Mini Stocks and young Chris Lomartire beat out the field of Bandolero racers for the victory.
Todd Ceravolo moved out to the lead at the drop of the green flag in the 35-lap SK Modified® feature. He paced the early laps over Joe Perry and Tom Abele Jr. Abele moved to second with an inside move on Perry on lap six. The early side-by-side racing prevalent throughout the field was halted on lap seven for a two car spin in turn four.
Ceravolo resumed at the front with a strong restart. The field behind was tight battling for position as Rob Janovic Jr., Ron Yuhas Jr., Rocco and Jeff Pearl were mired in the back half of the top ten looking to move up. Rocco entered turn three high and caught Justin Gaydosh off guard, sending Gaydosh spinning into the turn three barrier on lap 10 drawing another caution flag.

Scarborough, ME — Mike Rowe didn’t look like a winner during qualifying for Saturdays Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North opening day at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. Rowe started the 150 lap super late model feature in the 28th position, but the defending Pro Series Champion at the immaculate Scarborough Maine oval picked his way through the field to put his PT Watts Chevrolet on race leader Trevor Sanborn’s back bumper at the half way mark..
Sanborn kept Rowe at bay for nearly 50 laps, but the Maine motorsports legend found an opening under Sanborn on lap 120 and led the final thirty circuits to capture his sixteenth PASS North Super Late Model feature and two in a row at Beech Ridge. Rowe’s margin of victory was .526 seconds
Adam Bates was back in 18th at the start but the Warner NH racer and his team displayed their Beech Ridge mastery once again by finishing second. Bates looked like he might be able to challenge Rowe for the victory but the checkered flag flew before Bates had a chance to show his stuff. Ben Rowe’s PASS North debut with Mulkern Racing was a successful one with a solid third place run and Joey Doiron got his PASS North Rookie campaign off on the right foot by finishing fourth. Sanborn came home a disappointed fifth after leading the most laps.

Stafford Springs, CT — Under bright and sunny skies with temperatures in the mid-80′s, Stafford Motor Speedway hosted the completion of “The Greatest Race in the History of Spring”, the 39th Annual CARQUEST Tech-Net Spring Sizzler. Taking down feature victories were Keith Rocco in the 40-lap SK Modified® feature and Dillon Moltz in the 30-lap Late Model feature.

There were several attempts at the next restart with Curt Brainard, then Matt Gallo, and then Joe Allegro, Jr., Adam Skowyra, and Glenn Griswold each bringing the caution back out for spins. Rocco continued to lead back under green with Christopher and Malave behind him. Tom Bolles made a power move to go from 7th to 4th on the restart, while Eric Berndt rounded out the top-5.
