Stafford Springs, CT — The 2010 season has been a season to remember for Stafford Motor Speedway Late Model driver Dillon Moltz. Moltz was the winning driver in the Richard Petty Driving Experience in late April, earning him an ARCA ride in the July 31st Pennsylvania ARCA 125, which will be televised on SPEED. Moltz followed up his Richard Petty Driving Experience performance with a victory in the season opening Late Model event at Stafford Motor Speedway as part of the 39th Annual CARQUEST Tech-Net Spring Sizzler weekend, and he now has one of his favorite races to look forward to, the 16th Annual Lincoln Tech Late Model 100 this Friday night, May 7th. Moltz is the two-time defending champion of the event and is looking forward to continuing his winning ways in the extra distance event.
“We’ve been working on getting the car ready all week long and we’re really excited about our chances in the 100-lapper,” said Moltz. “We’ve always seemed to do pretty well in the extra distance races at Stafford. The longer races suit my driving style. It’s easier said than done for a racecar driver, but you have to pace yourself and take your time. You set the car up a little differently so that it comes in for you later on in the race rather than when you set it up to come in for a 30-lap race.”
Moltz had a streak of three consecutive extra distance wins at Stafford ended last September by Tom Butler, but he is confident that he can return to his winning ways.
“We had won 3 in a row, but Tommy Butler had a perfect car that night,” said Moltz. “I was doing what I always do in the longer races, but the car got loose on me when I tried to pass Tommy. He had a perfect car that night. We tried to go for the win instead of settling for second and we ended up finishing third, which we were happy to come away with a podium finish.”

Stafford Springs, CT — NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour driver Ryan Preece is set to make his SK Modified® debut at Stafford Motor Speedway this Friday, May 7th as part of the 16th Annual Lincoln Technical Institute Late Model 100. Preece will be driving the #89 owned by Mike Paquette and maintained by Bob Hitchcock and Kelly Iverson that is normally driven at Stafford by Kerry Malone.
“I’m definitely looking forward to making my Stafford SK Modified® debut this Friday night,” said Preece. “We’re going to go out and have some fun. It’s going to help me with seat time at the track and its going to help the team with developing new equipment to get ahead of the competition. The car is a Mike Paquette car with some different stuff on it than what everyone else out there has, so it will be a little bit of an R & D run, but we’re going to try to get to the front and win the race. Stafford has been a good track for me, but there is always more that you can learn.”
The deal between Preece and the Paquette/Hitchcock/Iverson team is a part-time deal for the moment, but could turn into something more long-term.

Christopher Edges Rocco, Preble & Santos For Monthly Honors
Daytona Beach, FL — Ted Christopher has been so successful at Stafford (Conn.) Motor Speedway that they already have a section of the grandstands named after him. His win there last weekend in the Spring Sizzler, the second race of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season, was a record sixth in the event that the late Jack Arute Sr. billed his signature event as the ‘Greatest Race In The History Of Spring.’
It earned Christopher the traditional swig of milk in Victory Lane, and helped him secure the top spot in the May edition of the Hunter Index.
The Hunter Index is a new feature in 2010 on NASCARHomeTracks.com that will spotlight the top 10 drivers in the NASCAR Developmental Series in a monthly power poll. Drivers are ranked on their performance over the previous month. The rankings are compiled by a panel of auto racing writers and NASCAR representatives.

Seekonk, MA — Hello all! I return for the day stepping in while Amy is away. There were seventeen cars that made the event at Seekonk Speedway. After a series of hard hitting thunderstorms earlier in the week it was not clear if the weather would hold off long enough to get some racing in. The day started off nice with comfortable weather and clear skies, but as it progressed it became more and more humid.
Over the course of the day there were four practice sessions for teams to get their cars adjusted. There were not any incidents during the practices. All the cars looked good, not leaving a whole lot for teams to do for fine tuning.
For the first heat it would be #00 Dave Richardi on the poll with brother #12 Rob Richardi, Jr. on the outside. The boys were all quick on the accelerator on the drop of the green flag. #00 Richardi a bit loose on the back straight on the first lap giving way for #10 Brian Vincent to pass him low and #12 Richardi, Jr. following in his lead. The group remained tight throughout all ten laps making for some good Pro 4 racing for the fans. #10 Vincent grabbed the checkered flag for the first heat.
