Thompson Falls Victim to Weather Again

Thompson, CT — A persistent drizzle and the forecast for late afternoon and evening showers prompted officials at Thompson International Speedway to cancel the Thursday, June 10th Town Fair Tire race program. The event was to have been the continuation of the June 3rd race which was washed out before the first feature event could be completed.

The race program, that will include the much anticipated Tour-Type Modified Shoot Out along with Thompson’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Super 6 divisions, will be run in its entirety on Thursday, June 24th. The 50-lap Late Model race scheduled for that evening will be moved to August 19th.

Those holding rain checks from the June 3rd race are urged to keep them in a safe place as they will be honored on June 24th. Pits will open at 3 PM, grandstands will open at 4:30 PM and the first race will go green at 6 PM.

Next Thursday, June 17th, the Modified Racing Series will take top billing on the Thompson race card. The MRS will compete in qualifying races and a 75-lap main event. They will be joined by Thompson’s Super 6 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions in an exciting night of high-speed competition. Grandstands will open at 4 PM with the first race slated for 5:45 PM.

Complete details of the rescheduled June 10th event and/or the MRS race on June 17th may be found on the Thompson web page. www.thompsonspeedway.com.
