Modified Racing Series at Twin State in October After All

Claremont, NH — In a joint statement issued Thursday, August 19, Dennis Fleury, owner of the historic Twin State Speedway, Claremont, NH., and Jack Bateman, President of the Modified Racing Series announced a series race has been added to the 2010 schedule and the tracks special “Fall Challenge” weekend Saturday, Oct 16, and Sunday, Oct 17.The race program will feature qualifying heat races on Saturday with a 100-lap feature race on Sunday.

“We were looking to add some thunder to this years “Fall Challenge”. Bringing in the Modified Racing Series does that. Several of the drivers with the series are former regulars here. It’s nice to be able to bring the drivers back, they have a lot of fans in this region.”

Bateman saw the opportunity to place a show back on the schedule that was lost to rain in June. “We posted a 20 race schedule last winter. This race will fill that void from the Seekonk rainout.” The series founder added, “Barring any rainouts, we could have a five-week layoff after Stafford. The addition of Twin State creates a great finish to the season. Three consecutive two-day events at three great race tracks.”

With the two-day format, it is the intent of the speedway to schedule the Modified Racing Series, sponsored by Bob Valenti AutoMall.com, feature race for a 3:00 PM start time on Sunday. Additional information will be forthcoming.
