Perry Wins the Battle of the Chevy’s NETS Race

Winchester, NH — The New England Truck Series (NETS), second to last points race at Monadnock Speedway’s finale this past Saturday, resulted with another first place winner in NETS opening season.

The # 83 FEB Construction sponsored Chevy, of Gee Perry of Grandby CT, took the checkered flag for his first NETS win this season.

The points battle going on is between the #16 of Willy Auchmoody, and the # 3 of Andy Lindeman for positioning of the championship race at Thompson. The second points battle going on is between the #83 of Gee Perry, and # 85 of Greg Butler Jr. for positioning of the final race for third.

A packed house with a full schedule of races was set for Saturday’s event.

The New England Truck Series was third in the lineup, and ran a caution free 20-lap feature event.

On the pole, the # 83 of Gee Perry got off to a good start driving away from the # 12 of Derek Chriss of Averill, NY sponsored Dan Engwer Wholesale Chevy who started on the outside of Perry. By lap two the East Hampton Auto Parts sponsored Chevy #85 of Greg Butler Jr. of East Hampton CT drove under the #12 taking second position leaving Chriss in third. On lap four, the # 16 Lee-Boy sponsored truck of Willy Auchmoody had taken over third positon.

By half way, the # 3 Wells Communication sponsored Chevy of Andy Lindeman was holding fourth position. Butler made attempts to try to catch Perry on the last ten laps, but to no avail, he could not catch up.

The last laps of the race, Auchmoody tried to go under and around Butler, but did not manage to change positions as Butler held him back. Lindeman just held his position till

the end of the race with a binding rearend. Perry held his position from start to end , winning the race. Finishing second Butler, and Third Auchmoody.

The # 6 Chevy truck of Craig Cashman of Marlbough, NH was not present due to transmission failure.

The final Championship points race for NETS is scheduled for Thompson Speedway in Thompson, CT, World Series Weekend October 15-17. The Championship race is on.
