Stafford Springs, CT — With the 2011 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season looming on the horizon, drivers are busy preparing their cars for competition while looking forward to the excitement of a new season. Such is the case for Stafford SK Light Modified driver Earl Pelletier and the #27 Earl Pelletier Concrete Services team. Pelletier has partnered with Steve Greer to share notes and most importantly, to receive some extra support in his pursuit of CARQUEST Victory Lane.
“I did some concrete work at Steve’s house and we got to talking about racing and we decided to be teammates for this season,” said Pelletier. “We’re going to have better resources this season, which will definitely be a big help,” said Pelletier. “We’re trying some different things on the car that we couldn’t afford to try in the past. We just got the car back from the chassis shop and R.A.D. Automachine has refreshed the engine, so we’re looking forward to the new season.”
After scoring three wins in 2008 and 2009, Pelletier went winless during the 2010 season. Pelletier was able to record 8 top-5 and 14 top-10 finishes with a best result of third, but several key factors kept him out of victory lane. Pelletier is looking to turn his fortunes around and get himself back into victory lane this year.

Stafford Springs, CT — As the excitement builds for the June 28th CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday Champions for Charities event, Stafford Speedway has been busy coordinating charities and the drivers that will represent them. The field for the CARQUEST Champions for Charities race is impressive, as it represents 42 championships among 12 drivers and 5 different open wheel divisions.
Ted Christopher, Stafford’s all-time winningest driver with 110 feature victories, will continue a relationship that he forged during the 2010 season and will be racing to raise funds for the Connecticut Breast Health Initiative. Last season, Christopher raised $100 for each feature victory and $1 for every lap he completed at Stafford for the CT Breast Health Initiative. With a matching contribution from Stafford Motor Speedway, Christopher was able to raise $4,000, which he presented during the CARQUEST Belts & Hose Pit Party during the CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend festivities. In addition to his CARQUEST Champions For Charities duties, Christopher has plans to once again raise money through his laps completed and feature victories at Stafford during the 2011 season.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” said Christopher. “We’re going to do the same deal that we did last year with the wins and laps. Everyone was real appreciative of what we were able to do last year and hopefully this year I can win more races than I did last year and raise more money. A friend of my wife’s had breast cancer and she was only 24. Breast cancer is a disease that unfortunately affects a lot of families and we’re trying to help raise money to defeat breast cancer. The great thing about the CT Breast Health Initiative is that all the money we raise is distributed right here in Connecticut.”
