Daytona Beach, FL — NASCAR announced today the No. 36 and No. 51 teams that compete in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour have been penalized as a result of rules violations committed Sunday, April 10 at Thompson (Conn.) International Speedway.
The teams were found to be in violation of Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4-I (car, car parts, components and/or equipment used do not conform to NASCAR rules); and 20D-5.10.1B(2) (altered carburetor boosters) of the 2011 NASCAR rule book. The violations were discovered during post-race inspection on April 10.
Ted Christopher, driver of car No. 36, has been penalized with the loss of 50 championship driver points.
