The open practice session is not only available to race teams that will be competing at Thompson during the 2011 season, but will be open to any safe race car regardless of its division or age. Thompson will play host to a tremendous variety of racers this season and all are welcome. Any and all Modifieds, Super Modifieds, Midgets, Mini Stocks and all forms of Late Model type race cars will be given track time to make their cars race ready. Vintage race cars, which will once again have their day this summer at Thompson, are also welcome.
This open practice session is also a great opportunity for new drives to gain valuable seat time. Once the weekly racing programs get started, on-track practice time is limited. Therefore, an open practice session is a unique chance for new drivers to obtain some very valuable experience.
