Rocco, Pitkat, Cipriano, Sears & Wood Score June 3rd USG night Feature Victories at Stafford Speedway

Stafford Springs, CT – Stafford Speedway was back on track with a 5-division NASCAR Whelen All-American Series event as part of USG Event Night on Friday, June 3rd. Keith Rocco scored his second consecutive victory in the 40-lap SK Modified® feature event, Woody Pitkat took his second consecutive victory in the 30-lap Late Model feature, Joey Cipriano came home the big winner in a thrilling duel for the win to pick up his second win of the season in the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature, Norm Sears picked up his second feature win of the season in the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature, and Josh Wood picked up his first feature victory of the 2011 season in the 15-lap DARE Stock feature.

In the 40-lap SK Modified® feature event, Chris Jones hit the turn 1 wall to bring the yellow out before the field could complete a lap. Chris Matthews took the race lead back under green with Nichole Morgillo and John Montesanto side by side for second place. Jeff Malave was fourth, with Michael Gervais and Rhyan Preece behind him.

Preece got around Gervais on lap-3 and Morgillo went into the race lead on lap-6. Behind Morgillo was Malave, Preece, Montesanto, and Matthews. Sean Foster spun and came to a stop on the backstretch grass to bring the yellow flag out with 9 laps complete. Foster needed a push to get back to pit road, where he parked his car for the remainder of the race.

$2,600 Available to Winner of Stafford’s 38th Annual Coors Light SK Modified® 100 on Friday, June 10th

Stafford Springs, CT — With the 38th Annual Coors Light SK Modified® 100 on tap this Friday night at Stafford Motor Speedway, the race winner is guaranteed to walk away with a winner’s check for $2,300. If the winning car has the proper contingency decals on their car, the winner’s check could be worth as much as $2,600.

There is a grand total of nearly $13,000 on the line for the 28 SK Modified® competitors who will take the green flag in the extra distance classic. The race carries a total purse of $12,310 with $550 in available contingency money to push the total posted awards for the 38th Annual Coors Light SK Modified® 100 to $12,860.

Thanks to contingency partners CARQUEST Auto Parts and Trantolo and Trantolo, there is an additional $300 available to the race winner. Additional contingency awards of $125 will be paid by Call Before You Dig to the second place finisher, and New England Racing Fuel, Sunoco Brand will pay a $50 product bonus to the third place finisher if they have a Sunoco sticker on their car and use Sunoco racing fuel in their car. New England Racing Fuel will also provide a $25 product bonus to the top-3 finishing cars that use the Stafford Motor Speedway SK Modified® Spec Engine.

Foot and Car Races Highlight NHMS Weekend

Loudon, NH — Whether you like running a race or racing a car, New Hampshire Motor Speedway offers it all this weekend with the Renegade Playground Challenge 5K and the North Country Porsche Club driver education event.

The Renegade Playground Challenge is the ultimate event for thrill-seeking athletes. The challenge takes place on a course approximately three-miles in length, set with obstacles that will include running through mud, climbing steep hills, crawling through tunnels and watch out, there may even be a snake or two. The Renegade Playground Challenge will send out its first wave of renegades tomorrow beginning at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is required.

For those race enthusiasts that would rather be behind the comfort of the steering wheel, “The Magic Mile” will feature a North Country Porsche Club driver education event both Saturday and Sunday.

Ricky’s Chase To The Race Kicks Off At Thompson June 16

Lebanon, NH — With the first qualifying event in the four-race “Ricky’s Chase To The Race” series less than two weeks away, the family of the late modified driver, Ricky Miller, is putting the final touches on the special qualifying series that will pay additional prize money to competitor’s vying for a guaranteed starting position in the big race.

The race benefits David’s House, a home away from home for families with ill or injured children receiving treatment through children’s hospital at Dartmouth- Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.

The first race is Thursday night, June 16, at Thompson Speedway, Thompson, CT. The Stafford Springs Motor Speedway, Stafford CT., will host the second race, Friday, June 24, and then the attention swings north to New Hampshire at Monadnock Speedway, Winchester, NH., July 2, and Lee USA Speedway, Lee, NH., July 8, for the third and fourth races.
