Howard Continues To Roll At Grandview

Rocco, Morris set the pace in Whelen All-American Series

Daytona Beach, FL —  While Keith Rocco and Philip Morris have set the pace at the front of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series national field all season, a championship dark horse lurks outside the top 25.

Duane Howard rolled off his fourth win in seven starts in the 358 Modified Division race at Grandview Speedway in Bechtesville, Pa. The 48-year-old from Oley, Pa., also has a pair of runner-up finishes and is 28th overall in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series national standings.

Howard’s race average of 40.3 points, though, is currently tops among the series.

Defending national champion Keith Rocco maintained his first-place overall position by 14 over three-time champion Philip Morris.

Wooody Pitkat Substituting for Davey Hamilton in CARQUEST Champions for Charities Event at Stafford Speedway

Stafford Springs, CT — Stafford Motor Speedway SK Modified® and Late Model competitor Woody Pitkat has been announced as a substitute for IZOD IndyCar Series and Indy 500 veteran Davey Hamilton in Stafford’s first ever CARQUEST Champions For Charities event. Hamilton announced today that he will have to miss the Tuesday, June 28th race at Stafford Motor Speedway, which is part of the 8th Annual CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday program.

“We are racing at Iowa on the 26th and immediately following that event, I have to go to Houston for a series of financial meetings,” said Hamilton. Hamilton races a part time schedule that included this year’s Centennial Indianapolis 500. “Our results have been less than we had hoped for so its time for us to examine our program from top to bottom and that’s another reason why I will have to miss CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday. I think the track has come up with a pretty impressive replacement driver for my charity.”

Pitkat is the 2006 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Division 4 Regional Champion, and he will be racing to raise funds for the Victory Junction Gang Camp.

Analyzing The Whelen Modified Tour At Monadnock

Daytona Beach, FL –  Following a month-long break the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will head to Winchester, N.H., for the Monadnock 200 on Saturday, June 25 at Monadnock Speedway.

Selected Driver Highlights:
Eric Beers (No. 45 Chevrolet)
•  Has two wins, nine poles and 64 top 10s in 157 career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour starts.
•  Is fourth in the season standings after three races with two top 10s.
•  Finished 10th in his first NWMT race at Monadnock Speedway in 2010.

Eric Berndt (No. 46 Chevrolet)
•  Has a pole and five top 10s in 43 career starts. This is his first full-time season.
•  Is 23rd in points after three races.
•  Recorded a career-best finish of fourth in his first NWMT race at Monadnock last year.

Justin Bonsignore (No. 51 Chevrolet)
•  The 2010 Sunoco Rookie of the Year. Has two poles and seven top 10s in 19 career starts.
•  Is 27th in points after three races.
•  Finished ninth at Monadnock in 2010.
