USAC DMA Midgets Return to Bear Ridge Speedway this Saturday, Added to New England Dirt Track Championship on September 24

Bradford, VT — The wingless wildcats of the USAC Dirt Midget Association return to Bear Ridge Speedway this Saturday night September 11 for what was scheduled to be their final appearance of the season. Fans of the DMA’s style of side-by-side, three wide, open cockpit, open wheel breathtaking action will be happy to hear that there are two more shows on tap.

In addition to this Saturday, September 10, the Midgets have been invited back to Bear Ridge for the season ending, New England Dirt Track Championship.

“We really appreciate the hospitality that Butch Ems and April May Preston have shown us at Bear Ridge and we’re looking forward to coming back next season,” said DMA founder Skip Matczak.

With five events already in the books, “Flatfoot” Joe Krawiec of Bristol, CT and “The Fairlee Flier,” Kevin Chaffee of Fairlee, VT each has a pair of wins, while Scott Holcomb of Granby, CT has earned a single trip to victory lane. A series of top five finishes has created a banner season for Midget rookie Ray Miller of East Granby, CT, a Hall of Fame Stock Car driver who came out of retirement to run with the USAC DMA.

There’s a tight battle for the DMA Bear Ridge Points Championship. With 371 points, Krawiec has a slight lead over Holcomb at 354, Miller at 339 and Chafee at 336. In USAC points, which are calculated by the national organization under a different system, it’s Krawiec 372, Holcomb 340, Miller 331 and Chaffee 326.

The action gets underway at 6:00ish on Saturday night at Bear Ridge Speedway, which is only a hop, skip and a Midget flip from Exit 16 off I-91 in picturesque Bradford, VT.
