Randy Moretti, Keith Caruso, David Westgate, Willy Sanchez and Matt Barboza pick up Fast Friday wins.

Seekonk, MA —  Matt Barboza led the opening five laps of the twenty lap Seekonk Youth Racing Association feature,  but Shelby Donovan completed the pass for the lead and surged to the top of the leaderboard on lap six. Accompanying her to the top was Chase Belcher, and together the two opened up a big gap over the rest of the field. While battling for the lead, Donovan and Belcher made contact with lapped traffic David White and spun around on lap fourteen. With Donovan and Belcher out of the mix, Matt Barboza inherited the lead and notched his first career victory. Donovan and Belcher rebounded to second and third.

“Wide Open” Willy Sanchez of Providence, Rhode Island, started on the pole for the SYRA 750, and led the entire way until a caution for a spin by Tylar Nailor on lap thirteen. On the restart, Sanchez again opened up a lead on the field, and held off hungry challengers Adam Swift and Kaitlyn Donovan for his first victory since July of 2010.

Robert Henry led the Sport4 field to the starter’s box for the green flag in the twenty lap feature. In between turns three and four on the opening lap, Henry and Westgate collided and spun in front of the field. The #99 of Taylor Therrien checked up and spun through the corner in front of traffic which included the #18 of rookie Chris Testa, who stopped short and avoided a crippling collision into Therrien’s driver side door. John Lamake and Devin Miranda swapped the lead following the restart, but neither could break away from the pack due to Chris Bissell’s spin on lap four. Dave Westgate took the lead on the restart before the race was halted once more for a spin on the back stretch involving the #28 of Lamake. Westgate jumped out to the lead when the green flag was waved, but his lead was swallowed up in the late laps by Rich Sprague. Exiting turn four on the last lap, Sprague laid a bumper to Westgate, but Westgate made the save and took the victory.

In the V6 Modified feature, Eric Vilandre started on the pole and led the first six laps until the caution flag flew for the #21 of Cerullo, who stalled entering the first turn. On the restart, Keith Caruso completed the pass for the lead on the outside and picked up the victory.

Dighton, Massachusetts native Chris Lima led the opening five laps of the twenty five lap Pure Stock feature from the pole before he was passed by Randy Moretti on the outside exiting turn four. Two laps later, Lima was shuffled back to third as Bill Chouinard moved into second right before the caution waved for a spin involving Amy Heroux on the backstretch. Chouinard, who led Moretti by only five points entering the night, circled the Speedway tucked right up against the back bumper of Moretti, but could not complete the pass, netting Moretti his second Friday night win in a row.
