North-South Shootout Supporting Red Cross

 

SOPHIA, N.C. – The 10th annual Colors Edge John Blewett III North-South Shootout will donate a portion of its proceeds to the American Red Cross in support of relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Caraway Speedway promoters Darren and Renee Hackett announced Thursday morning that they will use the North-South Shootout to help in the recovery of Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern states after Hurricane Sandy produced billions of dollars in damages earlier this week. In addition to donating a portion of the event's proceeds to the American Red Cross, drivers will also collect donations during the North-South Shootout autograph session at Caraway.

The 10th annaul Colors Edge John Blewett III North-South Shootout takes place next weekend, November 8-10, at Caraway Speedway.

“A number of our teams, drivers, fans and officials have been affected by Sandy in one way or another,” Renee Hackett said. “When people are trying to get their lives back to some semblance of normalcy in the wake of an event like the hurricane, we know that every little bit helps.”

In total, seven different divisions will compete in feature races at the Colors Edge John Blewett III North-South Shootout presented by PPG on November 9-10. The Tour Modifieds, PASS Super Late Models, SK Modifieds, Legends, Lite Modifieds, Sportsman and Super Trucks will tour Caraway Speedway as part of over 600 laps of feature racing.
