Speedbowl Holds Annual Holiday Toy Drive Tuesday
Event benefitting Tommy Toy Fund at Groton Inn and Suites
Waterford, CT — Groton Inn and Suites welcomes the Waterford Speedbowl community Tuesday evening, December 17 for the track’s annual holiday toy drive and social outing. Race teams, drivers, fans and track employees along with the public are invited to share holiday greetings while supporting the Tommy Toy Fund, which provides toys and other items to underprivileged children throughout the region. The event runs from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
Admission for the event is one unwrapped toy or donation to the Tommy Toy Fund. Hors d’oeuvres will be served at the event. Door prizes will be raffled off to those supporting Tommy Toy Fund’s giving campaign. Highlighting the raffle prizes include a 2014 Waterford Speedbowl Season Pit Pass valued at over $800.00, 2014 Speedbowl event tickets plus gift cards, gift baskets and other items donated by Speedbowl partners and area businesses. Raffle item donations for the toy drive total nearly $2,000.00 in value and continue to come in.
Tuesday’s event also kicks off the sale of 2014 season passes to the track. A special early bird discount will be offered. In addition, registration forms for 2014 competition will be available along with ticket sales for the 2013 Awards Ceremony honoring the past year’s track champions. For those looking to round out their holiday shopping, Speedbowl gift cards will be available for purchase at the outing.

The Tommy Toy Fund, which began in 1974, provides toys, books and gloves for underprivileged children in Eastern Connecticut. Those who wish to receive toys can sign up through a registered social services provider until Dec. 13.
