New England Truck Series Expects Exciting 2014 Season

The New England Truck Series anticipates a large field of trucks for the 2014 Icebreaker at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park. This will be the first event of a busy 2014 NETS Season, featuring 14 events at seven different speedways around the northeast. The trucks will return to Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park again in October, when they will look to crown the 2014 Champion.

With back-to-back NETS Championships, Duane Noll (2) returns as a favorite for the 2014 points title. Other leading contenders include last year’s runner up Glen Noll (72) and 4 time NETS Champion Chris Correll (7), now in a Chevrolet. Bert Ouelette (151) returns to the New England Truck Series after spending 2013 nailing down a championship in Tri-State Karts. Also returning full time are Corey Coates and Jason Lafayette (21), who both spent 2013 racing modifieds. 2013’s most improved driver, D.J. McGouran (73) and 2013 Rookie of the Year Pete Cayer (69) are expected to challenge at the front of the field in 2014.

New drivers to the series this year include former modified drivers Paul Varriccio Sr. (54) and Mike Parker (93). Former Monadnock Speedway driver Trevor Lee Dyer (70) is a leading contender for rookie of the year. Kendall Metcalf (8) and Cassie Coates (98) are running for 2014 ROTY after each made limited starts in 2013.

Former truck champion Alan Coates will to return to the New England Truck Series on a part-time basis in 2014. Waterford Speedbowl modified winner Joey Gada is expected to make appearances in the series, as well as NETS 5-time champion Andy Lindeman (3). Riverhead Super ProTruck champion by Frank Dumicich Jr. (42), leads a group of New York drivers expected to compete in select New England Truck Series events. That list includes his father Frank Dumicich Sr. (5), Tyler Chapman (81), Roger Turbush (88), Christopher Turbush (81), and Dave Koenig (97).
