Chris Turbush Wins at Waterford Speedbowl

WATERFORD, CT — Chris Turbush held off a charging Duane Noll to take the checkers at the Waterford Speedbowl in the second event of the New England Truck Series season. Duane Noll finished second, followed by Alan Coates, Roger Turbush, and Chris Correll.

Alan Coates brought the field down to the green flag and held the early lead, but Chris Turbush moved from his sixth starting position into second by lap 5. Caution for a spin by DJ McGouran would bunch the field up on lap 12, allowing Turbush to challenge Alan Coates for the lead on the restart. Turbush would battle side by side with Coates through two more cautions, but was able to get the advantage each time. Duane Noll mounted a charge late in the event, snatching second away from Coates with three to go, but ran out of time to catch Turbush. Coates finished third, followed by last week’s winner Roger Turbush. Chris Correll recovered from a mid-race spin to finish fifth.

Defending series champion Duane Noll will be in the series point lead when The New England Truck Series returns to action at Waterford Speedbowl in two weeks. For more on NETS, visit www.newenglandtruckseries.com or www.facebook.com/newenglandtruckseries.
