PRACTICE: Bonsignore Sets Pace

Defending race winner looks to repeat at Monadnock

WINCHESTER, N.H. – As the defending race winner of the O’Reilly Auto Parts 200, Justin Bonsignore continues to find the fast way around Monadnock Speedway.

The Long Island driver posted the fastest lap around the quarter-mile, high-banked, asphalt oval in practice Saturday afternoon — just barely. Bonsignore’s No. 51 chem3.com Chevrolet led the way with at 12.556 seconds (71.679 mph) to edge out Matt Hirschman (12.563/71.639) by just three one-thousandths of a second.

Bonsignore will attempt to become the first repeat winner at the track in nine previous events for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.

Doug Coby was third at 12.615 (71.344) followed by rookie Tommy Barrett Jr. and Ron Silk.

Donny Lia, Ron Yuhas Jr., Patrick Emerling, Eric Goodale and Ted Christopher completed the top 10.

Coors Light Pole qualifying will begin at 4 p.m., with the race scheduled to take the green flag at 8:30 p.m.
