Chad Finley Racing Moving to Mooresville

Partnership with 220 Ventures to offer Driver Development Program

DeWitt, Michigan (Friday, December 19, 2014): As the 2015 racing season approaches, Chad Finley and his Chad Finley Racing Team have big plans for the upcoming season. The biggest move of all is one made literally; A move to Mooresville, North Carolina is in progress as CFR becomes a Driver Development program in conjunction with 220 Ventures. Led by Wayne Setterington Jr., 220 Ventures has secured a 12,000 square foot race shop in the Tar Heel State that is fully equipped with all the necessary equipment for building and maintaining race cars.

Recently, 220 Ventures has made the decision to go down the path of race team ownership in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with Finley making select appearances. In addition to Finley’s Truck and select Super Late Model schedule, CFR and 220 Ventures have created a Driver Development program for those teams looking to race, primarily in the southeast, in the new CARS Super Late Model Tour and/or the PASS South Series. The combination is already armed with a new Port City Racecars chassis currently being constructed in the shop.

“I have known the Finley family for the majority of my life and have worked with both Jeff (Finley) and Chad in the motorsports industry as a crew chief.” Offered Setterington Jr. ” Working with Chad in the 2009 and 2010 season in the ARCA series, we had a very successful two years and working with him for those two seasons it quickly became apparent that Chad has an abundance of natural talent and the ability to make it to the highest levels of the industry if given the right opportunity.” He added.

“With the success of CFR over the last couple of years and the reputation that is has as a front running team, there is an opportunity for a solid Driver Development program for drivers that have funding but lack the ability to put together a race team.” Setterington Jr., explained.

“In the last few years the Finley’s have built a very reputable late model program that has the ability to compete at a very high level anytime they go to the track anywhere in the country.  ”So I believe we have an opportunity here to combine our resources to not only establish a solid Driver Development program, but also give Chad a real opportunity to showcase his talents and have the opportunity to be noticed by the big time team owners in the motorsports industry.” He ended.

Overall in 2014, Finley raced in over 30 total events primarily in his Template Super Late Model in the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS where he recorded a season high finish of a third four times. Those occurred at Lucas Oil Raceway (IN) twice as well as the 2014 season opener at Toledo Speedway (OH) and at Columbus Motor Speedway (OH). Those finishes were also his five top 10s. He also grabbed two Fast Qualifier Awards which came at Toledo as well as in the 2014 CRA Fall Brawl at LOR.

He also collected an impressive third place finish with the ARCA Midwest Tour in the Howie Lettow Memorial 150 at the famed Milwaukee Mile (WI) back on June 8th. Finley also won the Fast Qualifier Award in one of the most prestigious Outlaw Super Late Model races in the country; Main Event XXVII at Sandusky Speedway (OH) on October 12th. He also timed in third quick and finished eighth in another high profile Outlaw SLM race, the 25th Running of the Glass City 200 on September 20th at Toledo.

In limited appearances in his Pro Late Model, Finley has enjoyed success in 2014. In the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance, in four total JEGS/CRA races, Finley scored a win at Owosso Speedway (MI) on September 6 in the Big ‘O’ Classic 100 Presented by JEGS.com. He also recorded three top five finishes and two Fast Qualifier Awards, both of which broke the Track Record at Auto City Speedway (MI) on August 9th and at Owosso.

“Over the past several years I’ve strived to build a solid race team and feel I have done that. But at the end of the day our family business is growing daily and needs my full attention and this is a perfect opportunity to see this team grow even more.” Added CFR Car Owner, Jeff Finley. “This move will enable us to better ourselves in technology and bring the maturity and experience that Wayne possesses to enhance this race team to the next level. Chad has done an amazing job being the driver, crew chief and shop manager. This will allow him to focus solely on his driving while giving a new and up and coming driver some solid input on their driving and needs as well. I am looking forward to it.” He added.

During the 2014 season, all of Finley’s racecars carried sponsorship support and decals from Auto Value Parts Stores & Certified Service Centers as well as AutoParts2020.com, The Air Lift Company, Great Lakes Helicopter, XLT Engineering, NorthsideTowing.net, Driven Racing Oil, Five Star Racecar Bodies, Bassett Racing Wheels, Affordable Tire & Service, Bosch Spark Plugs, Hyperco Suspension and M.P.H.
