Caruso to Race Late Model at Seekonk

Keith Caruso will be driving a Late Model on Saturday nights at Seekonk (MA) Speedway and a V6 Modified at Hudson (NH) Speedway this season. He will also be racing part-time in the Granite State Pro Stock Series.

The Granite State schedule will include Hudson, Lee (NH) USA, Thompson (CT). Two potential races are Star in New Hampshire and the inaugural race and season finale at New London-Waterford (CT) Speedbowl on October 24.

“It’s a definitely a possibility,” Caruso said. “I think Granite State is going to put on a good show there and I would like to be a part of it.”

Caruso jumped at the opportunity to drive Dave Cerullo’s car at Seekonk. Cerullo always wanted to run Late Model at The Cement Palace. Caruso is looking forward to his first Late Model race at Seekonk . He has raced Pro Four Modifieds, V6 Modifieds, and a Pro Stock for Joe Lillie in the season opener three years ago.

Caruso is optimistic that the move to the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series will benefit the 1/3 mile oval. “I like they went to NASCAR. I think it will bring a few more cars and hopefully some good racing. “

Caruso raced in the Granite State Pro Stocks last season in the new LFR Chassis. It was a learning curve for him. Tony Eury, Jr. and Jeff Fultz are part of the company’s Super Late Model program. Caruso believes the cars have been running a lot better, especially with strong efforts by the two cars at New Smyrna (FL) Speedway.

Caruso is excited to get into the car on Icebreaker weekend at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park. One of his goals is getting the LFR Chassis into victory lane. He wants to contend for the championship at Seekonk. He is also pursuing his sixth V6 Modified title at Hudson.

“It’s going to be a busy schedule but looking forward to it. Racing is in my blood and can’t think of a better place to be at than at the race track. “

The Granite State Pro Stock Series will kick off their season on Icebreaker weekend at Thompson on April 11-12. Seekonk opens its 70th season on Sunday May 3. The first race at Hudson is Sunday May 17.
