Carlos Gray Eyes Full-Time Run at Mondnock, Stafford

NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler Saturday, Monadnock Opens May 2

Carlos Gray will run his first full-time season in the No. 69 car. He will be racing in the SK Light Modifieds at Stafford (CT) Motor Speedway for the NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler on Saturday. The Sportsman Modified season at Monadnock Speedway begins on May 2. Stafford hosts races on Friday nights and Monadnock on Saturday nights. Gray will choose what track to race based on points when a conflict arises. Both tracks have their season finale on October 3. He is also going to run at New London-Waterford (CT) Speedbowl.

Gray finished sixth in the 20-lap Lite Modified Icebreaker race at Thompson (CT) Speedway Motorsports Park. Gray is building a second car that will be available after halfway through the season. It will be a brand new car with a brand new motor. The old car will be a backup.

Gray got seat time and a lot of practice during half a season of racing.

“We got quite a few rookies coming into the SK Light division, which is gonna make it a little tough just because they don’t have the experience in a Modified. I kind of expect it’s going to be kind of hard coming through the field and dealing with the rookies. Everybody deserves a shot like I did.”

Gray’s goals are to get championships at both tracks and run for regional points in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series.
