Barrett Arrested for DUI April 17

Our Motorsport owner Chris Our has suspended driver Tommy Barrett, Jr. of Millis, MA for breaching the team’s “Code of Conduct policy.” 

“Our Motorsports has a strict set of standards which lend themselves to professionalism and accountability,” Our said in a press release from  140 BUZZ, the team’s public relations firm.

The 19-year-old NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour driver was arrested by the Willimantic (CT) Police Department on April 17 for traveling unreasonably fast, improper turn/stop-no signal, operating under the influence of alcohol/drugs. His court date is Monday, April 27 at 10AM in Danielson (CT) Superior Court. 

NASCAR Coordinator, Competition Communications Jason Cunningham sent a statement to us this evening: “NASCAR is aware of Tommy Barrett Jr.’s  recent DUI arrest. As we continue to gather information, Barrett will not be allowed to compete in NASCAR-sanctioned events pending a formal review. We have no additional information to share at this time.”

Barrett won his first NWMT race at Bristol and the Spring Sizzler pole last year as a rookie. He won 14 Stafford SK Lite Modified races in 2010-11 and 3 Valenti Modified Racing Series in 2012-14.
