PRACTICE: Preece Quickest at Stafford
Fastest In Whelen Modified TSI Harley-Davidson 125 Session
STAFFORD, Conn. – Ryan Preece hopes his fast history at Stafford Speedway continues.
Preece was the fastest at practice Friday prior to the evening’s TSI Harley-Davidson 125, and will look to break his 2012 track qualifying record.
Preece’s No. 6 TS Haulers/East West Marine Chevrolet had a lap of 18.300 seconds (98.361 mph) around the half-mile, slightly-banked oval during the one hour practice session. Defending 2014 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Doug Coby finished in a close second with 18.370 seconds (97.986 mph).
Preece set the track qualifying record in 2012, with 17.924 seconds (100.424 mph).
Rowan Pennink, Bobby Santos and Todd Szegedy rounded out the top-five.
Qualifying for the TSI Harley-Davidson 125 is at 6 p.m. and the green flag is slated for 9:15 p.m.
