Andrew Crosby Scores Modified Enduro Win at 95

Andrew Crosby of Hermon scored his first win of the season in the Modified Enduro class at Speedway 95 Wednesday night, stopping Milo’s Dustin Lancaster’s win streak at 2. Crosby took the lead from former Ladies division champion Rhonda Crain of Hermon on a lap 6 restart, and led the way to the checkers in the 25 lap feature event. Lancaster made a late race charge to finish second, passing third place finisher Scott Bonney of Stetson on lap 22. Crain finished fourth with Delaney Dunn of Eastbrook finishing fifth.

Sam Betts made it three in a row in the RoadRunners, but, again, lady luck played a hand in his win. Jason Trundy of Winterport had a lead of almost a lap on second place Betts on lap 28 of the 35 lap race when Bradley Norris of Ellsworth drove way wide in turn four, struck the car of Hermon’s Fred Richards sitting in the dirt off turn four and careened across the track, striking Trundy as he tried to get by down on the inside. On the restart, Trundy tried to continue, but his car was damaged too much to be competitive. Betts took the lead from Trundy on lap 29 and continued the final 6 laps in the lead. Kyle Gallant of Glenburn finished in second, with Rick Gomm of Dixmont in third. Further results are still pending as scoring was unable to provide the top five immediately following the race.

In the RoadRunner stunt race, a ramp race, Ben Audet of Vienna was declared the winner when Bobby Seger of Frankfort was disqualified for missing too many ramp rides in the 10 lap event. Joey Doyon of Winterport finished second with Blaine Coffin of Hermon in third. Henry Boudreau of Winterport and Dustin Darrow of Carmel rounded out the top five.

No Stars of Tomorrow race was run as the parents of the drivers decided the track was too damp and posed a danger to the 12 to 15 year olds set to race in the division.
