Rob Fuller Motorsports Ready to Keep Momentum Going at Thompson Speedway

Ron Silk to Drive the 15-40 Connection Modified in Pursuit of Third Consecutive Top-10

SHREWSBURY, Mass. (August 10, 2015) – Coming off of two Top-10 finishes from the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour’s (NWMT) recent stop at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Rob Fuller Motorsports is looking to keep the success going with another solid finish in the Thompson 150. Ron Silk will pilot the 15-40 Connection Modified for the team at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.

“We had another strong run at Loudon, led a lot of laps and grew as a team,” said Rob Fuller, team owner. “Momentum in this sport goes a long way, and I finally feel like we are at a turning point. Loudon was Ron’s first race in a LFR Chassis with a Spec engine, and I feel we are starting to understand what the other needs to succeed. Putting all our effort into one car was a plus as well. With everything going on at LFR, it is difficult to put the required time and focus into running one car, let alone two. Ryan and the guys have been working hard at the shop preparing for this week where we run two races in seven days despite the tracks being 800 miles apart.”

Silk’s efforts in the two NWMT races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway resulted in eighth and fifth place finishes for the 15-40 Connection team. He looks to build on what the team accomplished in New Hampshire at the upcoming race at Thompson Speedway.

“It was great to race up front and lead laps at New Hampshire,” said Silk. “We definitely had a car capable of winning, circumstances just didn’t go our way there in the end.”

The previous two trips to Thompson Speedway this season have been full of ups and downs for Silk. He opened the season with a ninth place finish but a mechanical failure resulted in a 27th place finish during his second race there. Despite the second finish, he feels optimistic about his chances this time around.

“I’m really excited to get back to Thompson. It’s one of my favorite tracks that I’ve had a good amount of success at over the years,” he said. “Last time there we had a good car but got a flat tire after our pit stop which ruined our day. This time though is my first race there with the Spec engine, so I’m pretty excited about that!”

Rob Fuller Motorsports is proud to be partnering with 15-40 Connection (http://www.15-40.org) to raise race fans’ awareness of the importance of early cancer detection. Together they are working to change the way people think about cancer, their health and the way they share information with their doctor.

15-40 Connection shares young adult cancer survivor stories to show how the early warning signs of cancer can creep into your life. One young adult cancer survivor credits the lessons she learned from 15-40 Connection with helping to save her life, as she was able to detect her aggressive breast cancer early on. Had it not been for her early detection, doctors have told her that the cancer would have spread significantly and greatly decreased her chance of survival. You can read more about her story on the 15-40 Connection website (http://www.15-40.org/2015-ungerer-gala-golf-tournament-guests-receive-thanks-for-saving-a-cancer-survivors-life/).

15-40 Connection encourages cancer survivors to step forward and share their story about the health changes they experienced, what they thought of them at the time, and the lessons they learned. These stories help more people recognize what a cancer symptom can look or feel like and can potentially save lives. If you’d like to share your story, please contact 15-40 Connection atinfo@15-40.org.

About 15-40 Connection

15-40 Connection is a growing national organization committed to raising awareness about the lifesaving advantage of early cancer detection. Cancer survival rates in teens and young adults aged 15 to 40 have barely improved since 1975 in large part because of delays in diagnosis. 15-40 Connection wants to change this by empowering individuals with knowledge that will save and improve lives through early cancer detection.
