$50,000 Double Duty Dare and $15,000 in Lap Money Up for Grabs at CARS Tour Season Finale in Hickory

Mooresville, NC 9/16/15– The inaugural season for the CARS Tour has been nothing less than successful thus far with just two races remaining. The first of those final two races is this weekend at Myrtle Beach Speedway before teams set their sights on the season finale at Hickory Motor Speedway for a Sunday afternoon matinée on November 1st that will crown the first ever CARS Tour champions.

Teams and fans alike will now have over $50,000 in reasons to circle the November 1st calendar date. The CARS Tour “Double Duty Dare” will award $40,000 to the driver who wins both the 150 lap Super Late Model and 150 lap Late Model Stock events to close out the 2015 season. In addition to the bonus money up for grabs for those “taking the dare”; lap money will be made available to all competitors in both races. The leader will take home $30 per lap led, while the driver in the 10th position will put $20 per lap in their pocket. In all, if every lap is sponsored, a hefty $7,500 per division in lap money will be added to the purse.

Competitors won’t be the only ones with incentives available to them at the MTP 300. One lucky fan in the grandstands could win $10,000 if the driver they are paired with successfully completes the “Double Duty Dare”. Beginning Thursday September 24th fans can register online at www.carsracingtour.com, visit the Hickory Motor Speedway offices, and until 1:30pm the day of the event at the track to be in a drawing for a finalist position paired with drivers pulling double duty. Fans of the CARS Tour on social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter will also get a chance to be in the mix as one guaranteed finalist will be chosen via a social media contest. A second guaranteed finalist will also be selected from entries via the CARS Tour website.

“We wanted to end the inaugural season in as big a way as we started it out. The lap money alone added to the purse on just a normal four tire race is already big. Then you add a bonus of $40,000 to a driver that can win both races, that puts it over the top,” noted Chris Ragle, Director of Operation for the CARS Tour. “The fan element is probably our favorite part of it all though. Fans from across the country have supported us this season no doubt. I’ve seen it when looking up at the grandstands each race. To be able to watch a great race at Hickory, see the first ever CARS Tour champions crowned, and have a very realistic chance of walking away with $10,000 is a good day to be a CARS Tour fan if you ask me.”

The event schedule and competitor entry forms for the MTP 300 presented by Southern National Motorsports Park on November 1st at Hickory Motor Speedway are already available online at www.carsracingtour.com. All rules regarding the “Double Duty Dare” as well as the fan contest submission form will be made available on the CARS Tour website by the above mentioned September 24th date.
