Whelen Southern Mods To Settle 2015 Championship At CMS

WHAT TO WATCH FOR

• The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour will settle its 2015 championship Thursday on the frontstretch quarter-mile at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Defending titlist Andy Seuss enters the Southern Slam 150 with a 10-point lead on brothers Burt and Jason Myers, who are tied for second, while four-time southern tour champion George Brunnhoelzl III is only three points further back in fourth.

A LOOK BACK

• Two more Home Tracks championships were settled last week as rookie William Byron emerged with the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East crown Saturday at Dover International Speedway and Ander Vilarino captured his third NASCAR Whelen Euro Series title in the last four years on Sunday at Circuit Zolder in Belgium.
• Doug Coby won on Sunday at Stafford Motor Speedway to move into a tie atop the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour standings with Ryan Preece with one race remaining on the schedule.
• The first race of the NASCAR Mexico Series’ Desafio playoff was postponed by rain on Sunday at El Dorado Speedway and was set to be contested on Monday.
