Stafford Motor Speedway Releases Its 2016 DARE Stock Rulebook

Stafford Springs, CT — Stafford Speedway officials have released the rulebook for its 2016 DARE Stock division.  With the track having already released its 2016 rules for its premier SK Modified® division along with the Late Model, SK Light, and Limited Late Model divisions, the 2016 DARE Stock rulebook means that each of Stafford’s five weekly divisions have their 2016 rules finalized.  The 2016 DARE Stock rulebook has 5 minor changes from the 2015 season.

The first rule change from the 2015 season deals with the Overall Car Weight.  Per rule 20F-2.2, the minimum weight at all times will be 3,100lbs.  A driver’s first win means zero penalty weight will be added to the car, a second win will add 100lbs of penalty weight to the car with no further weight penalties added, regardless of how many wins a car ends up having during the course of the season.

Per rule 20F-5.10.2, the Big Haus USA #001 adapter plate must be used.  The adapter plate will be available through Stafford Speedway.

Per rule 20F-10.6 Rear Axle, maximum gear ratio that cars with the 305 engine and automatic transmission will be 3.73 and cars with the 305 engine and a manual transmission has a maximum gear ratio of 3.42.

Per Rule 20F-10.8 Tires, a tire rule will be instituted for the 2016 season.  Drivers will can enter a maximum of 8 tires into their inventory for the first race of the season, and teams will then earn 1 tire credit per week by taking the green flag in their feature event.  After a certain amount of time has passed into the 2016 season, teams will only be allowed to start with 4 new and 2 used tires for a total of 6.

Per Rule 20F-14 Brakes, racing type brake pedals and master cylinders may be used.  Master cylinders must be a single stage design and no bias adjusting units will be permitted.
