The Race
This is Coughlin’s fourth Super Late Model start of the season, and first since his victory at Toledo Speedway in April.

The high-banked Anderson Speedway fits right in line with Coughlin’s driving style. Even though it’s only a quarter-mile in distance, it’s fast and it’s banked, and Coughlin loves both of those aspects. The 20 year-old has seen success at Anderson in the past when he scored a strong top-10 finish there en route to his JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour championship in 2013.

The Last Race
Cody Coughlin was victorious in April at a prestigious Super Late Model event at Toledo Speedway in Ohio. The Joe Gibbs Racing Development driver, started third, took the lead on lap 65 and led the remainder of the race to score the victory in the ARCA / CRA Super Series. The 20 year-old is the current series point leader.

The Weekend
It’s a doubleheader weekend for Cody Coughlin. On Friday he will compete in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in the number-51 Toyota Tundra for Kyle Busch Motorsports at Kansas Speedway. Due to that race, he will miss practice Friday at Anderson, but once he arrives in Indiana on Saturday, Coughlin and the Team JEGS crew will be ready to challenge for the victory.

The Crew
Cody Coughlin’s Team JEGS crew will be led by new crew chief Jack Smith, who will be calling the shots for the third time this season. Smith is joined by Kevin Hamlin (team manager), Scott Wimmer (spotter), and Dave Holt (crew member).

The Family
Cody is a third-generation race car driver. His family, including his father, John, has been successful in NHRA drag racing for decades. Cody, unlike his family predecessors, chose the path of circle-track racing rather than follow on the straight-line path set forth by the rest of his family. Cody’s mother, Di, and sister, Kennedi, attend Cody’s races in support of their favorite driver.

The Race Track
Anderson Speedway is a quarter-mile oval with close to 17 degrees of banking. The high banking leads to high speeds, even on such a small track. The facility first opened in 1948, and is the home of the Little 500 for non-winged Sprint Cars every Memorial Day weekend.
