ComServe Wireless to Donate Percent of Profits to Bassett Racing

China Grove, N.C. (May 27, 2016) – In the wake of disaster, the NASCAR community has banded together to support one another. On Friday, May 20th, K&N Pro Series East team Bassett Racing lost almost everything when their shop was ripped apart by a fire overnight. But unlikely partnerships formed in the aftermath. Competitors at Calabrese Racing and Precision Performance Motorsports donated resources to Ronnie and Dillon Bassett to make it possible for them to race at Dominion Raceway on Memorial Day. Now, ComServe Wireless has stepped in to offer their support. Over the next month, race fans and employees can purchase their Verizon phones and accessories from one of 30 ComServe Wireless locations in Virginia and Maryland and they will donate 5% of the profits to Bassett Racing in an effort to help rebuild the team.

ComServe Wireless Owner and President Richard Gdovic, a veteran of the motorsports community, knows what is at stake. Gdovic owns NASCAR XFINITY and K&N Pro Series East team Precision Performance Motorsports and has spent years facilitating his son Brandon Gdovic in his rise through the ranks of NASCAR.

“We are glad to help our fellow racers in need,” said Gdovic. “This has been a core value of our Precision Performance Motorsports team since its inception. Brandon and I, along with General Manager Charles Denike, were all concerned when we heard of the fire at the Bassett’s race shop. It is a devastating loss to their team and their family. Our goal is to keep them both in the hunt for the NASCAR K&N East championship and to get the rest of the race community involved to get them back on their feet. One way we can do this is to use the buying power of the race community along with the 30 ComServe Wireless Verizon stores in Virginia and Maryland to give a portion of every sale to the race community to the Bassett’s to help them recover from this tragic loss. Hopefully we can keep the feeling of community going for the next few months and drive some funding to their program.”

ComServe Wireless will also serve as the sponsor of Monday’s K&N Pro Series East race at Dominon Raceway. You can catch Dillon and Ronnie Bassett in the ComServe Wireless Memorial Day Classic broadcast on NBCSN Thursday, June 4th at 6:00 p.m. ET.
