Mid-Summer Classic Saturday at CSP
PEORIA, Ariz. (July 7, 2016) – Summer is most definitely in full effect in Arizona’s valley. So, it’s quite fitting that Canyon Speedway Park near Phoenix hosts its annual Mid-Summer Classic on Saturday night.
Following an open practice on Friday night from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturday’s Mid-Summer Classic atop the 1/3-mile CSP clay oval will feature a full slate of Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Hobby Stocks and Dwarf Cars.
Saturday’s racing action goes green at 7:00 p.m.
Saturday’s card marks the fourth outing for the Super Late Models at CSP with Sean Bray and Lonnie Parker, Jr., splitting earlier wins with another event stopped short by inclement weather.
Jason Noll is the latest of five different winners in a row in the Arizona Differential IMCA Modified ranks as Mike Strobl leads the title chase by 11 points over Zack Madrid with Steve Stultz another two points back in third.
Nate Warren put a stop to George Fronsman’s four-race winning streak in the Allscapes IMCA Stock Car vs. SCRA Stock Car ranks late time out, but Fronsman still holds a 17 point edge over Cody Center in the title chase.
Richard Bennett picked off his second Scottsdale Muffler & Automotive IMCA Hobby Stock vs. Renegade win of the year last time out to take over the points lead by just three markers over Jason Crowe.
In the Dwarf Car ranks, Cory Brown sits atop the win charts with three wins at CSP including the last time out on June 11 and two of the last three.
Tickets to Saturday’s Mid-Summer Classic are just $16 with a $3 discount for Military, Seniors and Students. Children ages 7-12 are $6, with children 6 and under admitted free. VIP passes are available for $20.
