Dalton Sargeant Hoping Second Time Around Translates to Success at Berlin

Concord, North Carolina (August 4, 2016) – ARCA Series rookie of the year challenger Dalton Sargeant will make his eleventh-career ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards appearance driving for Venturini Motorsports in this weekend’s ARCA 200 at Berlin Raceway.

Despite Sargeant’s rookie status and shortage of first-hand track experience at all but four race tracks (Winchester Speedway, Lucas Oil Raceway, Iowa Speedway and Berlin) making up the ’16 ARCA schedule, Sargeant has adapted, proving to be a threat each and every time out driving for Venturini Motorsports.

This weekend Sargeant will pull from experience when making his return to Berlin Raceway, a track he visited two months ago competing in the ARCA/CRA Super Series’ Battle at Berlin super late model event.

Sargeant, driving his familiar No.55 Toyota Racing Development – Windows 10 Camry, believes his recent racing experience will reduce his learning curve and allow him to focus on achieving the ultimate success at Berlin come Saturday night.

“There’s no doubt racing at Berlin earlier in the summer will help me this second time around,” said Sargeant. “I have high hopes – and believe we’ll have a solid chance. It’s such a unique place. With little or no true straightaways you’re basically always turning the wheel. Set up is definitely the key as you’ve got to make sure the car isn’t too free. Battling too loose of a race car at this place will make for a long night. I’ve got a lot of confidence in this race team – really looking forward to a good night – nothing would be sweeter than duplicating Erik’s (Jones) team effort and picking up my first ARCA series win at Berlin just like he did a couple of years ago driving for VMS.”

Credited with five top-three finishes, and an impressive seven top-5’s in just ten series attempts, Sargeant hopes to pick up ARCA career victory number one at Berlin. With three less race attempts in 2016 than the regular full time series drivers, Sargeant currently occupies the seventh spot in ARCA’s championship driver point standings.
