Interstate Batteries Racing: Daniel Suarez Boyd Gaming 300 at Las Vegas Advance

Daniel Suarez Back in the Saddle

HUNTERSVILLE, North Carolina (March 8, 2017) – There is a level of comfort that can be derived from being back on familiar ground. It’s that very premise that serves as the theme to the Gene Autry classic “Back in the Saddle Again.”

And that’s exactly where Daniel Suarez will find himself this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

A quick look back to one year ago and it’s immediately obvious that, for Suarez, there isn’t much that is the same. Last year at this time, the Monterrey, Mexico native had just embarked on his second full season of NASCAR XFINITY Series competition and was still trying to score his first career win in the series. In the 12 months that have followed, he’s not only scored his first series win, he visited victory lane a total of three times and won the 2016 XFINITY Series championship. And during the offseason, it was announced that Suarez would replace retiring driver Carl Edwards as driver of the No. 19 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) Toyota.

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series

Grand Theft Auto: Keselowski Steals Win At Atlanta, Goes For Second Straight Victory At Las Vegas

Brad Keselowski took advantage of Kevin Harvick’s late speeding penalty by passing Kyle Larson with six laps left to win last Sunday’s Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The victory extends Keselowski’s streak of seasons with at least one win to seven. The No. 2 Ford driver ranks third in the points standings (six markers behind Harvick) as the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the Kobalt 400 (3:30 p.m. ET on FOX).

Keselowski is the defending race winner in Sin City. He took the checkered flag there last year in a highly competitive contest in which five different drivers led 24 or more laps – Keselowski, first-place, 24 laps led; Joey Logano, second, 74; Jimmie Johnson, third, 76; Kyle Busch, fourth, 38; Kurt Busch ninth, 31.

Eckes Eager to Get Back in Car and Contend for Win at Concord

(GREENVILLE, NY) – It’s been close to a month since the last time Christian Eckes was behind the wheel of a race car. Fortunately for the 16-year-old Snowball Derby champion, that streak is coming to an end this weekend when he straps in at North Carolina’s Concord Speedway for the Circle Track Warehouse 200 season-opener for the CARS Racing Tour.

The last time Eckes raced at Concord Speedway in a CARS Tour event he finished third in the Late Model Stock Car and 10th in the Super Late Model.

This weekend Eckes will not be running double-duty as he focuses solely on his Fury Race Cars Super Late Model at the fast, tricky triangular half-mile of Concord Speedway.

PASS South Title Contenders Prepare for Orange County Return

CHARLOTTE, NC (March 8) – As Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model racers from across the Carolinas prepare for the series long awaited return to Orange County Speedway on Saturday, March 25th, a great championship battle is heating up following the first two races of the season.  Heading into the upcoming “Original” Orange Blossom Special, points leader Bradley McCaskill and former PASS South champions, Matt Craig and Tate Fogleman, are only separated by two points.  As a matter of fact, the top 11 drivers in points only have 42 points between them.
Following his recent win in the Dogwood 150 at Southern National Motorsports Park, Matt Craig looks forward to the next stop for a number of reasons, including the opportunity to get a guaranteed starting spot in the 44th Annual Oxford 250 with a win and a shot at the $25,000 top prize come last weekend in August.

“It was good to win with the new style Hamke car and be the first one to win with it,” says Craig.  “We broke something at Dillon and we just nursed it to the finish, so we know we have good speed.”

After a tight battle throughout the season in 2016 with Kodie Conner, Craig was able to prevail and capture the championship.  But, he knows it will be no easy task to become the first two-time winner of the South’s oldest Super Late Model championship.

Mobil 1 Racing: Kevin Harvick Las Vegas Advance and Team Report

KEVIN HARVICK Leading the Pack Out West

KANNAPOLIS, North Carolina (March 8, 2017) – Kevin Harvick, driver of the No. 4 Mobil 1 Ford Fusion for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR), is leading the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series to Las Vegas for this weekend’s Kobalt 400. His impressive start to the 2017 campaign through the series’ first two events has led to a four-point lead over the 2017 Daytona 500 champion, fellow SHR teammate and Las Vegas native Kurt Busch, in the season standings.

Perhaps the most impressive part of the No. 4 Mobil 1 team securing the top spot in the Cup Series standings is that it has done it while transitioning through the offseason to Dearborn, Michigan-based Ford Motor Company as its manufacturer.

The new Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series point system rewards racing at the front of the field throughout each event and, ultimately, winning stages. The No. 4 team has three stage wins through the first two events of the season and has led 342 of 525 total laps – more than 65 percent of the possible total. The driver who ranks second in laps led is Chase Elliott with 39.
