Brandon Gdovic & DAC Motorsports Complete 12 Hours of Sebring in 17th Place

China Grove, N.C. (March 20, 2017) — Brandon Gdovic joined DAC Motorsports to compete in the 65th annual Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring March 18th, 2017 at Sebring International Raceway. Hot off the heels of a successful Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, the DAC Motorsports team felt confident heading into the second stop of IMSA’s Tequila Patron Endurance Series. Although the DAC Motorsports team had to overcome handling issues in their Lamborghini Huracan GT3, they finished the entirety of the event in the 17th position.

The DAC entry was one of six Huracan GT3s entered for the race, with Lamborghini being the most represented manufacturer in the GTD class of the race. The No. 18 carried the emblems of team partners La Champagnerie, Sonic Tools, DAC Aviation, ComServe Wireless, Windstax and Holand Automotive. The team spent Thursday and Friday’s four scheduled practice sessions trying various setups and attempting to diagnose the handling issues. The issue persisted throughout qualifying and Gdovic posted laps fast enough for a 20th-place starting position.

The green flag for the 12 Hours of Sebring waved at 10:40 a.m. ET with Gdovic behind the wheel first. Each driver would compete in rotating two-hour session which saw Gdovic swap in for his second and third stints at 2:40 p.m. and 6:40 p.m., respectively. Unfortunately, it was difficult for even the most-seasoned road-course ringers to overcome the handling of the car. But the DAC Motorsports team persisted and were able to tick off a number of competitors en route to a 17th-place finish.

Brandon Gdovic Quotes:
“This 12 Hours of Sebring weekend was a frustrating one, but regardless I enjoyed getting more seat time in the GT3 car and learned much more about it. Unfortunately, we struggled with some sort of mechanical issue the whole weekend that we never could get resolved and that really hindered us. Nevertheless, it was a good experience and I am looking forward to the next one. I would like to thank Emmanuel Anassis, Anthony Massari and the entire DAC Motorsports team for the opportunity to drive for their team and their efforts at Sebring. Also thanks to the team sponsors and my sponsors WindStax and ComServe Wireless.”
