Gaston Racing Enterprises Adds Heat Race Bonus

Stafford Springs, CT — Friday May 26th, Dunleavy’s Truck and Trailer Repair Modifiedz Night has has already been tabbed as the biggest payday in SK Light Modified racing history.  Stafford Speedway has teamed up with their official track parts supplier, Gaston Racing Enterprises, to add a $375 bonus to each of the SK Light Modified qualifying races on May 26th.

“I’ve always enjoyed modified racing and the SK Light division is a great starting point for future modified drivers,” said Gaston.  “I know almost all of the competitors and I thought this would be something nice to do for them.”

Each qualifying race will have a payout for the top 4 finishers, $150, $100, $75, and $50.  Stafford Speedway has successfully implemented qualifying race purse money for other events such as the NAPA SK 5k.  Both drivers and fans have enjoyed the added excitement to the qualifying.

“We are excited that another bonus has been added to the Dunleavy’s SK Light feature,” explained Mark Arute. “Bill Gaston [of GRE] came to us looking to add a bonus to the Dunleavy Modifiedz Night SK Light race.  We’ve had heat race bonus money for the NAPA SK 5k for a few years now and the drivers have responded positively to the bonus.  It fits into our goal of having May 26th be a special night to showcase the SK Light Modifieds, their drivers, and teams.”

Qualifying races are expected to be vital for the Inaugural Dunleavy’s Truck and Trailer Modifiedz night 40 lap SK Light modified feature.  Many teams have already expressed their intent to run the SK Light division at Stafford in 2017 with pre-season number registrations for the division at an all-time high with 47 drivers securing numbers.  A mix of crafty veterans and young rookies are expected to headline the division throughout the season.

“The bonus money is going to help spice up the qualifying,” said Gaston.  “It costs a lot to run these cars so I’m sure the money is going to be a big help to whoever wins a bonus.  It’s going to be an exciting race and I’m really looking forward to it, can’t wait!”

Gaston Racing Enterprises is a full-service race parts supplier currently located in Manchester, CT but they are in the process of moving their shop to 96 Burnham Street in South Windsor, CT.  Owner Bill Gaston has run the business for over 25 years and has been involved in CT modified racing for many years with a variety of drivers most recently Paul Buzel, Wade Matteson, and Chris Osella.  Visit http://www.gre6.com/ for a full list of in stock parts and contact information.
