The event was to have been the 60th series event held at the southeastern Indiana dirt oval, one of seven venues to have reached that mark. The series will return on July 22 for the 31st annual edition of “Indiana Sprint Week” and on September 29 for the “Fall Nationals.” Additionally, the USAC P1 Insurance Midget National Championship makes its lone visit of the season on June 2.

Ronnie Williams Preparing for Busy NAPA Spring Sizzler® at Stafford

Stafford Springs, CT — When the green flag falls on the 47th Annual NAPA Spring Sizzler® at Stafford Speedway on April 28-29, one of the busiest drivers in the paddock area will be Ellington native Ronnie Williams. Williams will be splitting his weekend between the #50 SK Modified® team owned by the Skowyra family and the #21 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour car owned by the Bertuccio family.

Williams kicked off his 2018 season with a trip to New Smyrna Speedway in February for the World Series of Asphalt Racing with the Bertuccio crew to get a head start on their 2018 Whelen Modified Tour duties. Although the team met with some mechanical gremlins during their week in Florida, Williams is excited about his prospects of recording a top-10 finish at his hometrack, Stafford Speedway, in the 200-lap NAPA Spring Sizzler®.

“Between New Smyrna and the start of the Tour season, I already have 8 races under my belt this, so I’m excited about the Spring Sizzler,” said Williams. “We had some good speed at New Smyrna, we just didn’t get the finishes we wanted with some mechanical issues. I’m happy that we worked out some issues down in Florida rather than at Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach didn’t work out like we hoped it would so we’ll go to Thompson in search of a top-10 and then to Stafford and hope for another top-10 finish. There’s nothing better than coming to Stafford, my home track for Spring Sizzler Weekend and racing two different cars. The Spring Sizzler is definitely a race that I’m looking forward to.”

Cole Anderson Looking Forward to Racing On Easter Weekend

NORTHFIELD, MN (Mar. 28, 2018) – For the first time in his racing career, Cole Anderson will be competing over Easter Weekend when he races this Friday night at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida. He’ll once again be piloting a car prepared by the ATF & Gunslinger team in the first of many attempts at the half-mile speedway in Florida’s panhandle.

Two weeks ago, Anderson completed double duty as part of the Rattler Weekend in Opp, Alabama, where he ran both a super late model on Sunday and finished top ten in the pro late model event Saturday night despite a mechanical failure on the car. Cole will be racing the pro late model again this weekend in preparation for December’s Snowflake 100, arguably the most prestigious pro late model race of the year.

“We had a heim get bound up in the front end at Opp, so the suspension wasn’t able to move like it should,” Anderson explained of the effort in Alabama. “Knowing that, I think we’ll be good because our pro car usually hauls butt everywhere we go. We just have to qualify up front and run a steady race pace and not burn up the tires.”

Myrtle Beach CARS Tour Victory Super Sweet for Fultz and Walker

MOORESVILLE, NC (March 28, 2018) – It really isn’t a dream for Chris Walker. The long-time car owner in late model and ProCup circles is still pinching himself every morning since his team picked up their first win in the BakerDist.com 200 at Myrtle Beach Speedway on Saturday, the opening super late model race of the season for the CARS Response Energy Tour.

“This morning when I woke up, the check and the trophy are sitting on my fireplace mantle, but it still hasn’t sunk in,” Walker admitted. “That first one, it’s hard to top it.”

For many outside of the team’s inner circle, it was hard to believe the race was his first win in nearly a decade of car ownership. Most team owners who have had the litany of drivers in their machines as Walker has routinely are associated with winning. And though he had been close, it never happened before.

High Stakes for PASS Racers Looking to Win Easter Bunny 150 Trophy

CHARLOTTE, NC (March 28) – As the 13th Annual Easter Bunny 150 Presented By MyComputerCareer at Hickory Motor Speedway approaches this weekend, drivers and teams from across the country are making their annual holiday trek to the North Carolina Piedmont. The action-packed Saturday of racing will also see the return of the SMRS Tour Modifieds to the Easter Bunny weekend. And the state of Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Model racing in the Mid-Atlantic appears to be as strong as ever. As it has since 2006, the Easter Bunny 150 Presented By MyComputerCareer and its iconic trophy have become bucket list material for many short track racers from across North America.

But, there is even more on the line in this year’s version of the Easter Bunny 150 Presented By MyComputerCareer. With over 30 cars already entered, the “Bunny” has added importance this year as the top five finishers at Hickory on Saturday will each receive guaranteed starting positions for either the 45th Annual Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway in August or the inaugural Commonwealth Classic at Richmond Raceway in October. Five-time PASS National Champion, Ben Rowe, has seen the Easter Bunny 150 since its beginning in 2006 and he believes the opportunity to get locked into Oxford or Richmond has made the stakes even higher this year.

“I think it’s just getting bigger and bigger,” says Rowe, a winner of the Easter Bunny 150 in 2009 and 2016. “Everyone in the south knows the Easter Bunny at Hickory now. Getting locked into the Oxford 250 or Richmond is huge. Just look at Bubba Pollard, one of the best Super Late Model racers in the country is coming to Hickory to try and get locked in, that says a lot.”

When New England Racing Fuel first joined the Stafford Contingency Program in 1999, they supported the SK Modified® ProStock, and Late Model divisions.  Since the 1999 season, Stafford’s weekly division lineup has evolved to now include SK Lights, Limited Late Models, and the rebranded Street Stocks along with the SK Modifieds® and Late Models.  For the 2018 season, New England Racing Fuel, Sunoco Brand will provide the top-3 finishers from all five divisions along with the top finishing rookie driver in each feature event with a $25 gas certificate.  With 22 races on the schedule, New England Racing Fuel, Sunoco Brand will offer competitors over $10,000 in gas certificates during the 2018 season.

Sheldon Haudenschild Continues Torrid Start to 2018; Captures Third Win of Season at Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, CA – March 24, 2018 – Last year’s Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Sheldon Haudenschild means business in 2018, as the young Wooster, OH native scored his third World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series victory of the young 2018 season at Bakersfield Speedway. Haudenschild stormed to the front of the Feature from ninth and was undoubtedly the class of the field, winning by nearly three and a half seconds despite a late caution. Shane Stewart came from seventh for his second consecutive podium finish with early race leader Jason Johnson completing the all World of Outlaws regulars podium.

Johnson was attempting to pull a clean sweep of the program after setting fast time, winning his Heat and taking the Craftsman Club Dash, earning the pole for the 35-lap Feature. Johnson set a fast pace, surviving a couple of cautions and leading the first 14 laps.

2016 Bakersfield winner Brad Sweet appeared to be the man to beat when he took the lead, to a huge applause, on the 15th circuit from his fifth-starting position, after exchanging multiple slide jobs with Johnson. Disaster struck three laps later for Sweet as he did a full 360 rotation and a massive wheelie before his NAPA Auto Parts No.49 machine came to a stop in turn two.
