Reutzel Racks Up Another Win En Route to Jackson Nationals

CLUTE, Texas (September 1, 2016) – Aaron Reutzel is set for double duty at this weekend’s Jackson Nationals at Minnesota’s Jackson Motorplex after a weekend that netted his fifth overall win of the 2016 campaign.

This weekend’s Jackson Nationals that takes place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday culminates with a $25,000-to-win NSL 410-ci Sprint Car feature and a $10,000-to-win ASCS National Tour feature event on Sunday, making for a potential big payday for the driver of the Dissolvalloy Downhole Revolution/BC Fundz No. 87 Triple-X Sprint Car from Clute, TX.

“We have been good at Jackson, we should have won last time there in the 410 and basically gave it away,” Reutzel says.  “If we can avoid parts failures and I do my job, it can be a big weekend.”

Windom, MN (September 8, 2015) – The FVP National Sprint League returns to the scene of one of its most exciting feature events this Friday night, September 11!  The Nebraska Cup awaits at the Eagle Raceway near Eagle, Nebraska.  In May, under one second separated winner Brad Loyet from the third place car of Danny Lasoski, with Brian Brown in between.  The final two laps saw a lead change no less than four times!

FVP National Sprint League News and Notes from the Jackson Nationals and Huset’s

Windom, MN (September 8, 2015) – The biggest paying sprint car purse in the history of Minnesota featured the FVP National Sprint League at the 37th Annual Jackson Nationals.  Sammy Swindell was the class of the field both nights.  Brian Brown broke through Sunday night at Huset’s Speedway to record his first NSL win. This weekend, the series tackles the Nebraska Cup at Eagle Raceway on Friday and the Jerry Richert Memorial at the Cedar Lake Speedway near New Richmond, Wisconsin on Saturday.

Sammy’s a Winner – Sammy Swindell hit the track running at the Jackson Nationals and never looked back.  Many thought with the new configuration at Jackson Speedway, Sam Hafertepe’s one-lap record (15.601) had to fall this season.  Sammy made sure of that Friday night with a lap of 15.491 seconds.  That was the third track record the NSL had set in eight days.  Sammy came a heat win short on Saturday night of sweeping the whole weekend.  While those behind him waited for a mistake Saturday night, it never happened.

Kevin Wins Too – The silent auction brought the generosity of both those who donated to it and those who bid.  $13,600 was raised for Kevin Swindell’s recovery from injuries sustained at the Knoxville Nationals.  The NSL did one better, raising that total to $30,000 with a donation of its own!  The series would like to thank everyone who contributed!

Brian Brown Breaks Through at Huset’s for First FVP National Sprint League Win

Knoxville, IA, September 6, 2015 – Two things are certain.  Brian Brown has had his share of bad luck this season, and Huset’s Speedway near Brandon, South Dakota has not been kind to him over the years!  He broke through both obstacles to claim the 35-lap feature at the 3/8-mile oval on Sunday night.

The Grain Valley, Missouri driver started on the pole of the main event and shot out to the early lead over Dusty Zomer and Bill Balog.  Balog worked on Zomer and took over second on lap three with Tim Kaeding in tow.  The first caution of the race would then come out for Brooke Tatnell, who shelled his driveline on the frontstretch.

The restart saw Brown ahead of Balog, Kaeding, Zomer and Lynton Jeffrey.  When the green flew, Kaeding worked under Balog for second.  Balog and Jeffrey then dueled, exchanging the third position before seventh running Mark Dobmeier flipped in turn one.  He was uninjured.

Sammy Swindell Drives to $25,000 Jackson Nationals Win

Thomas Kennedy Takes 360 Win

Knoxville, IA, September 5, 2015 – A third place heat run Saturday night was all that kept Sammy Swindell from sweeping the entire weekend at the 37th Annual Jackson Nationals.  The Germantown, Tennessee driver’s win Saturday night earned him $25,000 aboard the CJB Motorsports/Big Game Treestands #1.  Thomas Kennedy joined his father Lou as a Jackson Nationals champion as well, earning the 360 feature win aboard the family #20K.

It took three tries to get the richest race in Minnesota sprint car history going.  Lynton Jeffrey came to a stop and retired on the initial start, before Mark Dobmeier spun on the second try.  Swindell won a row one duel with Danny Lasoski to lead early.  Craig Dollansky fell into third.

A cone in turn four was thrown onto the racetrack with a lap in the books, bringing another caution.  The caution was fortunate for Bryan Clauson, who got over the turn one berm and lost several spots.  He would restart fifth behind Swindel, Lasoski, Dollansky and Brian Brown.

Seth Bergman Wires 360 Field on Night #1 of Jackson Nationals

Seth Bergman led from green to checker Friday night in the 360 feature on night #1 of the Jackson Nationals at Jackson Speedway in Minnesota.

Bergman started on the pole and grabbed the early lead. He would open up a comfortable lead as the rest of the field continued to battle for positions. On lap nine, the yellow flag came out when Isaac Schreurs came to a stop on the back straightaway.

The re-start saw Bergman keep the field behind him, only to have the yellow flag come out again one lap later when Eric Lutz came to a stop in turn two. On the restart again Bergman was able to keep the field behind him, but moving up through the field toward the end of the race was Gregg Bakker and Lee Grosz.

Sammy Swindell Sweeps Night #1 of the Jackson Nationals

Knoxville, IA, September 2, 2015 – Sammy Swindell swept night #1 of the 37th Annual Jackson Nationals at the Jackson Speedway in Minnesota Friday night.  The win assured him of a spot in the $25,000 to win Jackson Nationals finale, Saturday night, September 5.  The Germantown, Tennessee driver led every lap and survived a late scrap with Brian Brown to secure the win.  He also set a new one-lap track record in qualifying at 15.491 seconds, breaking Sam Hafertepe Jr.’s four year old mark of 15.601.

Swindell shot from his starting spot outside row two to hit the high side and edge the pole-sitter, Brown, for the early lead.  With three laps down, the first caution of the race came out for Tasker Phillips, who spun and collected Paige Polyak.  The restart saw Swindell leading Bronw, Ian Madsen, Lynton Jeffrey and Bryan Clauson.

Brown stayed with the leader after the restart, hitting the high side of one and two, while Swindell used the low groove.  While the pair battled up front, Craig Dollansky took fifth from Clauson.  Danny Lasoski began a charge at that point, outing both Clauson and Dollansky for a top five spot.

Speedway Motors Contributes to 360’s at Jackson Nationals

Windom, MN (September 3, 2015) – Speedway Motors of Lincoln, Nebraska is contributing to the 360 feature on Saturday night at the Jackson Nationals, September 5!  They will be offering $300 in product to the winner, $200 for second, and $100 for third!

“Speedway Motors is proud to support the National Sprint League and its racers at the Jackson Nationals,” says Damon Lee of Speedway Motors.  “Sprint Car racing has been a significant part of Speedway Motors’ 63-year history and all of us here are excited to see the energy that NSL is putting into this thrilling form of motorsports. We look forward to seeing the series grow and thrive in the future.”

Speedway Motors

The history of Speedway Motors can be traced to the childhood of its founder, “Speedy” Bill Smith. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Bill developed an early passion for performance. He began racing motorcycles as a teenager in the late 1940’s, transitioning to cars in 1948. Speedy Bill’s entrepreneurial streak was established when he started his first business – a hauling service – at age 14.

In 1952, with a degree in education from Nebraska Wesleyan University, 22-year-old Bill decided to forego teaching and pursue his love of cars and racing by opening Speedway Motors, one of the Midwest’s first speed shops. The company opened in a tiny building at 2232 “O” Street, Lincoln’s main drag.  Speedway Motors grew quickly, expanding into a 5,000 sq. ft. building near 17th and “N” streets in 1954.

By the early ’60s the company had also opened its own fiberglass manufacturing facility for making street rod and race car bodies and parts. Speedway’s reputation for quality products, great service, and low prices kept it growing through the decades, culminating in a move to its current corporate campus at the turn of the century.  To learn more about Speedway Motors, visit them online at www.SpeedwayMotors.com!
