Duane Noll wins Cinco De Mayo Night at Monadnock Speedway

WINCHESTER, NH –  For the second year in a row, Duane Noll was able to pull off the victory on Cinco De Mayo night at the Monadnock Speedway and extend his point lead over the remainder of the field. Glen Noll would start on the pole in truck # 72 with Tom Metcalf along side in truck #8. As the green flag waived, G. Noll would get the jump and lead briefly into turn one before Duane Noll, who started third, moved low to take the top spot in truck #2. Metcalf would follow through for second followed by Brad Caddick in truck #44. G. Noll would be able to drop back in line in fourth place followed closely by Tony Lafo in fifth with truck #151.

The field would stay this way till lap three when Metcalf and Caddick would make contact exiting turn four sending Caddick into the right front of Glen Nolls Chevrolet and giving Metcalf a left front flat tire. Noll would have minor damage to the right front nose of his machine. Lafo would have minor damage to the right sides as he had contact trying to avoid the wreck. Metcalf would have to go to the pits for repairs as the rest of the trucks were able to resume in the race.

On the restart it would be Duane Noll on the pole with Lafo along side. As the race resumed, Noll got the jump followed by Caddick who was battling for the second spot with Lafo as the pair would swap this spot over the next few laps. While they battled for second D. Noll was able to open up a sizable lead. Lafo would finally take the second spot as Caddick would have issues and drop off the pace. Glen Noll would take the third spot as Caddick dropped to fourth. The field would remain this way over the final nine laps with D. Noll winning. Lafo would come home a solid second with Glen Noll having a great run finishing in third place.

Coates Takes Surprise Victory at the Waterford Speedbowl

Waterford, CT — It might not have been a surprise to some people that Corey Coates took down the victory on Saturday night at the Waterford Speed bowl. But for the rest of the field, it was a surprise as Coates jumped into a truck he had never driven, started last in the race and took the lead with five laps to go to take down the feature event win.

The night started out with Glen Noll on the pole in truck #72 with his brother Duane Noll right alongside in truck #2. As the field came down for the start, Duane Noll got the jump and led the pack off of turn two. As the field came down to complete lap one, Glen Noll would come up the track and make contact with Corey Coates bringing out the first caution of the race. As bad as it looks, both trucks were able to drive away and rejoin at the tail end of the field. On the restart, D. Noll would find himself now on the pole with Tom Metcalf alongside in truck # 8x. As the green flag waived again, Noll would jump out front followed by Metcalf, Chris Correll in truck #7 and Brad Caddick in truck #44. The green would not stay out for long as Caddick and Tony Lafo in the #151 would make contact off turn four sending Caddick to the pits for repairs.

Once back under green, Noll would continue to lead the field but once again trouble would hit as Correll would break in the middle of turn two dropping fluid on the track. Pete Cayer would spin in the oil with truck #5 bringing out the final caution of the event. As the field went back to racing, it was the defending series champion Duane Noll leading the way but Coates had been quietly making his way back up through the field and now found himself in second place. These two would pull away from the field and start battling for the lead. At the same time, Lafo would also find himself in a heated battle with Metcalf for the third spot. With less than five laps to go Coates made the move and put the Chapman #22 truck out front for the final time and held on for the final laps to take down the victory. Duane Noll would have a solid finish in second place with Lafo holding off Metcalf for third.

Turbush Wins Truck Series Opener at the Waterford Speedbowl

Chris Turbush of Riverhead New York took the lead after an accident on lap eleven and never looked back to win the New England Truck Series season open at BlastOff 2013 at the Waterford Speedbowl.

Ten trucks would line up for the start of the feature event on Saturday night. Defending series champion Duane Noll started on the pole in truck #2 with Tom Metcalf alongside in truck #8x. As the green flag waived, Noll would take the lead with Metcalf second and C. Turbush third in truck #8.

The front of the field would stay pretty much single file till lap 8 when Dan Butler in truck #27 and Keith Chapman in truck #22 would come together in the backstretch along with Glen Noll in truck #72 bringing out the first caution of the event.

Speedbowl Ready for Blastoff!

Large turnout for open practice this past Saturday

Waterford, CT — A large contingent of racecars and on-lookers turned out this past Saturday at Waterford Speedbowl. Over 125 racecars representing many divisions jammed the pit area to test and tune for the 2013 race season. The Speedbowl opens the New England racing season this coming weekend with Budweiser Blastoff, the track’s 63rd season opener.

The largest turnout on Saturday was made by the Valenti Modified Racing Series. The popular open-wheel series will begin its 10th anniversary season at the Speedbowl as part of Budweiser Blastoff Weekend. Approximately 25 teams attended the practice day to put down laps on the shoreline oval. Series officials anticipate well over 30 teams for Budweiser Blastoff. Race teams from the Northeastern Midget Association (NEMA) and NEMA Lites, plus the New England Truck Series joined several Speedbowl racers in attendance Saturday.

Budweiser Blastoff Weekend takes over the Speedbowl April 5th – 7th. The weekend is highlighted by a 100-lap feature for the Valenti Modified Racing Series and a special 63-lap race for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modifieds®. Thirteen divisions in total will each be after the first checkered flags of 2013.

Truckers Ready to Rumble Through New England

The 2013 New England Truck Series will kick off their 2013 season on April 6th at Waterford. It will kick off a 13 race schedule for the series. They will make five appearances at Monadnock and Waterford. They will go to the Thompson Speedway twice and Stafford once. The New England Truck Series will close out their 2013 season at Thompson Speedway on World Series Weekend.

The race at Stafford will be a special race for the competitors as it will be Shirley Lindeman Memorial. Shirley Lindeman is the mother of multi time champion in the Series Andy Lindeman. Shirley would always greet the drivers and wish them luck before the race and always would ask the race how they did. The Shirley Lindeman Memorial race was held at Monadnock last season. The race will be held at the Fall Final Weekend at Stafford on Saturday September 28th.

Duane Noll had a dominating season last year and won the 2012 Championship. Noll will be back to defend his title. Glen Noll the 2012 Rookie Of The Year in the series will also be back as well as some competitors. Lorraine Pard is the series director of the New England Truck Series. She also feels that at the first race that there will be some trucks from Long Island area that run at the Riverhead Raceway will be a part of it. For the first race at Waterford we could see Chris and Roger Turbush. Later on in the year we could see Keith Rotzi come up and race as well as Matt Odwazny. In the new list of rookies, Tony Lafo, Pete Cayne, Brandon Chase, Danny Butler along with a few more blending in at the last moment.

New England Truck Series Gears Up for 2013 Racing Season

While there is still snow on the ground and the weather is cold, the New England Truck Series drivers and officials are gearing up for what looks to be a successful 2013 racing season as this series heads into its fourth year of competition. Many of the teams are already burning the midnight oil preparing their Ford’s, Chevy’s and Dodge race trucks for the season opener to be held on April 5th, 6th & 7th at the Waterford Speedbowl in Waterford Connecticut.

For 2013, this series will once again travel around New England and make stops at not only the Waterford Speedbowl but at tracks like the Monadnock Speedway, Stafford Motor Speedway and the Thompson International Speedway. These four tracks have become a stable home for this series and put on some of the best racing throughout New England.

The 2013 schedule has grown to 15 races that start at the Waterford Blast Off weekend and end at the Thompson World Series. As this series grows, it continues to look for new race tracks to compete at as well as new sponsorship opportunities for businesses to have their name on a fun and exciting night of racing.

Series Director Lorraine Pard has high hopes as this traveling series continues to grow and attract new drivers as well as past competitors to its roster. Among those drivers returning to full time duties is former multi time point champion Chris Correl. Correl returns to his familiar #7 Hooter’s Racing Ford owned by Don Super. This team proved it hasn’t missed at beat as they came back toward the end of 2012 and won the feature at the Thompson World Series. Another driver returning to full time duties in 2013 is former feature winning driver Howard Payne. Payne takes over the wheel of the Harold & Cindy Burdick owned #151 Ford that was campaigned the last two season’s by Bert Ouellette. Payne knows the quick way around and should be a threat right out of the box with this long time husband and wife team. But things won’t be easy for these two returning veterans as the 2012 series champion Duane Noll plans to defend his title and continue in his winning ways as he prepares a three truck assault on 2013. Not only will Duane have his brother Glen on the track with him, but also is son will be in competition this year as he runs for the Rookie of the year honors. Add in drivers like Shane Michalski, DJ McGouran and Gee Perry to the list and you’ve got one tough crowd going for the 2013 championship that is sure to have people on their feet. Thompson Releases 2013 Racing Schedule

THOMPSON, CT — The 2013 Thompson International Speedway racing schedule has been released. The track will host three NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour races, three Valenti Modified Racing Series events, the Granite State Pro Stocks, the Northern Mini Stock Tour, the New England Truck Series and other touring series in addition to a weekly Thursday night racing schedule that will run from May 31st through August 29th.

The 2013 season will open with the traditional Icebreaker on the weekend of April 13 & 14 and will end with the World Series of Speedway Racing slated for October 18th -20th. The WMT will top the billing at each of these events and will also return for the annual 150-lap August race.

The Valenti Modified Racing Series will kick off the summer season with a special Sunday race set for May 19th. The VMRS will return on Thursday, July 25th and again for the World Series on Saturday, October 19th.

New England Truck Series Crowns New 2012 Truck Champion

Danielson CT–The New England Truck Series held its first ever awards banquet this past Saturday night as they honored there 2012 champion and runner-ups at the Imperial Room in Danielson Connecticut.

The evening started out with a buffet dinner and desert that was enjoyed by all. Once dinner was completed, it was time to start the award presentations. Banquet host Harold Burdick opened the award ceremony by asking for a moment of silence in remembrance of the 27 people killed tragically at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Sandy Hook Ct. Series president Lorraine Pard then spoke to the crowd, thanking them for their continued support as well as announcing that the 2013 schedule would be out soon. Race director Mark Woodcock also spoke to the gathering thanking them for a great 2012 season.

The series officials were then recognized and given thank you plaques for their hard work. Race Director – Mark Woodcock, Official/Assistant Tech – Chris Austil, Official – Ann Marie Pard, Official – Michelle Pard, Administrated Assistant – Doris Frizzell, Chief Stewart – James Warner and Head of Tech – Todd Stiles.

Pennink Celebrates Modified Racing Series Victory; O’Sullivan Claims Two Wins On World Series Weekend

Thompson, Conn: Rowan Pennink’s victory in the Valenti Modified Racing Series 75-lapper highlighted an action packed night at Thompson International Speedway that offered 11 features of racing. John Studley, John Lowinski-Loh, Tommy O’Sullivan, Jesse Gleason, Eric Bourgeois, Glen Thomas, Jr., Chris Correll, and Dave Richardi all visited victory lane on World Series weekend. Eric Berndt won his second career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour pole for Sunday’s 150-lap tour race.

Rowan Pennink picked up his third victory of the season in the Valenti Modified Racing Series after taking the lead at lap Justin Bonsignore led from the pole before caution slowed the race for the first time at lap two. On the restart, Bonsignore drove back out front with Todd Owen right on his bumper. On lap four, Owen shot around to the lead with Bonsignore and Christopher in tow. Owen drove straight to the front when racing resumed after a caution on lap 11 with Chris Pasteryak getting underneath Bonsignore for second. Pasteryak attached himself to Owen’s bumper, and heading into turn one on lap 17, shot to the bottom and drove to the lead. Pasteryak put some distance over the rest of the field once out front while Christopher took over second. Louie Mechalides took that spot from Christopher when the Plainville, Conn. native pulled his ailing machine onto pit road at lap 34. Mechalides set his sights on Pasteryak, who was maneuvering through lapped traffic nearly a second in front of him. Caution flew at lap 40 with many cars electing to go down pit road, but Pasteryak was not one of them. Rowan Pennink joined Pasteryak on the front row for the restart, and took over the lead when the green flag dropped. On the next circuit, Brad VonHouten and Leo Oliviera made contact. Oliviera’s car climbed the outside retaining wall and traveled over 100 feet on that wall before coming to a stop in the middle of turns one and two. The race went under red flag conditions as safety and track personnel attended to Oliviera, who escaped unharmed, and his car. On the restart, Pennink jumped to the lead with Pasteryak and Richard Savary in tow. Lap 50 brought out the caution once again, and on the restart, Pennink drove straight to the front as Pasteryak held off a challenge for second. Jon McKennedy and Steve Masse rounded out the top-four. McKennedy used the bottom to get by Pasteryak on lap 54 while Masse followed his line on the following circuit. Pennink held off McKennedy through two more restarts, but it was getting harder for him to shake McKennedy, who was glued to his rear bumper as they hit five laps to go. Caution flew with two laps to go setting up a green-white-checkered finish, but even that was not enough to shake Pennink, who drove to the victory.

John Studley held off Cam McDermott to win the 20-lap Lite Modified feature Saturday night. Corey Barry took the early lead, but a wreck in turn one brought out the caution before the second lap could be completed. On the restart, Barry drove right back out front with Nick Salva in tow, but Zach Aszklar was on the move and took over the second position by lap four. Aszklar got a run on Barry on the restart, but could not quite complete the pass. The battle allowed Troy Talman to sneak by for the lead before caution flew at lap seven. Tony Membrino, Jr. challenged Talman, but couldn’t get enough momentum to get by. Aszklar did get a run, and took over second from Membrino before the lap was complete. Aszklar spun in turn two setting up a restart with Talman, Cam McDermott and Membrino leading the charge. Talman held on to his lead at the drop of the green with McDermott filling his rear view mirror. On lap 13, McDermott took the low groove to drive by for the lead on the backstretch before caution slowed his pace. Talman reclaimed the lead on the restart with John Studley knocking him from the point in turn four of lap 16. McDermott used the bottom of the racetrack to take second away from Talman on lap 17 and attach himself to the back of Studley’s bumper. Studley could not be shaken from the point, however, and drove on to the checkered flag.

World Series this Weekend at Thompson

Thompson, CT —  The weekend that every race fan in the northeast looks forward to is this weekend at the Thompson International Speedway. The Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing presented by Town Fair Tire and Xtra Mart kicks off this coming Friday and runs through Sunday.

Sixteen different divisions of race cars and trucks will converge on the historic speedway to draw down the curtain on the 2012 racing season. The World Series of Speedway Racing is three days of non-stop activity on the race track and hours of fun and social activities for the fans. The entire weekend is a huge race and party weekend as fans say good bye to another year of auto racing.

The race track is the center of activity with hundreds of race cars and trucks and many race teams with hopes of capturing a championship in their respective divisions. The most talked about championship battle surrounds the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. Three drivers are positioned to capture the 2012 title during the last race of the year for the most popular NASCAR touring division in the northeast. Doug Coby, Ryan Preece and Ron Silk are in a very tight point battle for the crown. Coby holds a 17- point advantage over Preece while Silk is only 18 points behind the leader. One of these three will end their weekend as the new NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion. Race fans will also be treated to an autograph session with the drivers of the WMT on Sunday afternoon.

NETS Championship Race at World Series

The New England Truck Series makes their second appearance at Thompson International Speedway this coming October 12 thru14th weekend wrapping up the NETS Championship at the World Series for 2012 season with a new Champion.

Andy Lindeman # 3 Chevy from NY, held the point’s title for the last five consecutive years, and Chris Correll # 7 Ford from CT was the four time consecutive champion before him.

Duane Noll # 2 Chevy is leading in the points with his brother behind him Glen Noll # 72 Chevy, running for Rookie of the Year.

Thompson Gearing Up for World Series

THOMPSON, CT — With the Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing presented by Town Fair Tire and Xtra Mart only three weeks away, the Thompson International Speedway if in full swing preparing for the incredible three-day racing spectacular.

This year’s World Series event, October 12-14, will be the biggest World Series ever with special attention directed to the Saturday night portion of the program. In previous years, roughly half of the participating divisions ran their feature events on Saturday night in front of large crowds who enjoyed the incredible diversity of race cars and race trucks. This year, that same Saturday night fun will be significantly increased with the addition of a Valenti Modified Racing Series 75-lap feature event. Divisions that will be part of the feature event lineup on Saturday will qualify on Friday except for the Valenti Modifieds. VRMS competitors will qualify and race on Saturday. The divisions racing on Sunday will qualify early Saturday afternoon.

The divisions that race on Saturday will include the Pro 4 Modifieds, N.E. Trucks, Late Models, Monster Mini Stocks, Xtra Mart Limited Sportsman, Thompson and Lite Modifieds and the three “outlaw” divisions. Add to these races the full program from the Valenti Modified Racing Series and fans will have an extra special racing weekend.

Christopher, McKegg, Miller, Muller, & Noll Score PASS 125 Feature Victories at Stafford Motor Speedway

Stafford Springs, CT — Stafford Motor Speedway was back in action with a special event on Sunday, August 26, the Inaugural running of the Pro All-Star Series Super Late Models. Ted Christopher was the winner of the PASS Super Late Model feature, Dan McKegg won the PASS Sportsman feature in a thrilling finish, Mitch Miller won the PASS Modified feature, Jesse Muller won the DIRT 602 Sportsman Modified feature, and Duane Noll was the N.E. Truck Series feature winner.

In the 125-PASS Super Late Model feature event, Ted Christopher got around Jay Fogleman to take the lead at the drop of the green flag. Zane Zeiner was third, with Lonnie Sommerville in fourth and Ben Rowe in fifth. The caution came out with 3 laps complete as Dave Macomber lost an engine and put fluid down on the racetrack.

Christopher took the lead back under green with Fogleman, Sommerville, and Rowe single file in the top-4. Mike O’Sullivan and Woody Pitkat were side by side for fifth with O’Sullivan taking the position. Joey Doiron followed O’Sullivan by Pitkat to move into sixth. Sommerville moved by Fogleman to take over second on lap-8 as Christopher continued to lead the race.

With 20 laps complete, the running order was Christopher in the lead, with Sommerville, Fogleman, Doiron, and Johnny Clark making up the top-5. D.J. Shaw was sixth with Rowe, Travis Benjamin, Derek Ramstrom, and Cassius Clark rounding out the top-10.

New England Tractor Trailer Training School Sponsors NETS Race at Thompson

Espotito Wins NETS Race at Waterford

Vinney Esposito of Waterbury CT, takes his first win from points leader Duane Noll of Monroe CT, in the 25-Lap New England Truck Series feature race last Saturday night at the Waterford Speedbowl.

On the pole #151 Ford of Bert Ouellette with the # 11 Chevy of Vinney Esposito on the outside set the pace as they rolled off turn four starting NETS feature race. Before getting to turn three, Vinney took over the lead position from Ouellette with #2 Chevy of Duane Noll in tow. On lap nine, #75 of Corey Coates takes third place position with Ouellette and #8 Dodge of Tom Metcalf following behind. On lap fifteen, with mechanical failure, the #6 Chevy Truck of Mike Ledoux had to park for the night. By lap nineteen, the #21x Chevy of Jason Lafayette takes over fourth position with Metcalf, Ouellette and #19 Chevy of Nate Bubello of MA .

Newcomer DJ McGouran, #46 Ford truck, held on to eighth position respectively doing well with his first race in a truck. Pulling up the rear #72 Chevy of Glen Noll and #03 Ford truck of John Brand ending the field.

Noll’s Third Win at Twin State

New England Truck Series made an appearance at Twin State Speedway this past Saturday night along with the regular Saturday night divisions including a few fireworks added into the night.

Jason Lafayette (21x) takes an early lead in the 25 lap feature event with (2) Duane Noll hot on his tail and the (151) of Bert Ouellette in third. On lap eight Vinny Esposito (11) and Nate Bubello (19) get together an spin for the first caution of the race. On the restart, the Lafayette gets the advantage after a two lap side by side battle with Noll .

Meanwhile Bubello, Tom Metcalf (8), and Esposito go three wide as they battle for the fifth position. As Noll pulls to the inside of the leader, a lapped vehicle caused Lafayette to go high and lose his lead to Noll and was unable to recover. On lap 21, debris brought out a second caution causing the trucks to bunch up and fight it out to the finish. Noll takes the checkered followed by Lafayette in second and Esposito makes up the top three. The Dodge of Tom Metcalf finished in fourth followed by the 151 Ford of Bert Ouellette rounding out the top 5.

Noll Wins First New England Truck Series Victory!

This past Saturday night the New England Truck Series returned to Waterford Speedbowl for their second race of the season, featuring great side-by-side action for the top spots throughout. Duane Noll battled Chris Turbush over the second half of the race eventually taking the win. While they battled for the lead, early leader Corey Coates and Gee Perry were locked in a battle for the third position throughout the 25 lap feature. In the end, Noll out dueled Turbush to come out on top, scoring his first series victory. Chris Turbush was second while Perry and Coates tangled, giving Jason Lafayette a podium finish.

Waterford Speedbowl Budweiser Blastoff Saturday 3/31 Results

Waterford, CT — Waterford Speedbowl opened for its 62nd consecutive season Saturday, hosting qualifying and eight main events as part of Budweiser Blastoff weekend. Picking up wins in Saturday’s main events included Paul French of Andover, who won the evening’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Light Modified race, Ryan Bigelow of East Hampton who found Victory Lane in the NEMA Light touring series race, and Corey Coates of Ledyard who won in the visiting New England Truck Series. In INEX racing, Dave Garbo Jr. of Stonington claimed the win in the opening day Legends Cars feature and Jacob Urch in the afternoon’s Bandolero race. Other winners included Jon Porter of Canterbury in Super X-Cars, Chris Garside of Waterford in X-Cars and James Logan of Dighton, MA in the New England Four Cylinder Pro Stock event.

After conquering early rain showers that plagued the region, those in attendance were treated to qualifying action for Sunday’s 100-lap Valenti Modified Racing Series feature and special 62-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified® feature before Saturday’s main events. Leading the way in qualifying for Sunday Blastoff features was Rob Goodenough, who earned the pole starting position for the Valenti Modified Racing Series feature with twenty six cars qualified for that event. Tom Abele Jr. of Norwich won pole-starting position honors for the SK Modified® feature. In addition to those two events, the NEMA Midgets will compete in a 25-lapper on Sunday as well as NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action for the Bob Valenti Auto Mall Late Models (50-laps), Street Stocks (30-laps) and Mini Stocks (30-laps).

The 20-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Light Modified feature saw Chris Ignazio lead the field to the green flag, however defending division champion French raced to the lead through turns one and two outside Ignazio. Tyler Jackson moved to second position and newcomer Jason Ferreira came to third position in the opening laps.

New England Truck Series Goes Green to Checkered at Waterford’s Budweiser Blast Off

Waterford, CT — Corey Coates of Ledyard, CT takes the first win of the season in the New England Truck Series 25 lap feature race this past Saturday night at Waterford Speedbowl.

Coates started on the pole but lost the lead on lap one to the #88 of Roger Turbush. On lap three he regained the lead with a great move in turn 1 and lead from there on. According to Coates halfway thru the race his motor started breaking up and he didn't think he would make it thru the whole event. The #88 of Turbush held on to second place until lap 23 when the hard charging # 2 of Duane Noll swept underneath him to steal the spot. Vinny Esposito of the #11 followed him to make up the top three. The #88 of Roger Turbush finished in fourth followed by the #21 of Jason Lafayette rounding out the top 5.

Stafford Speedway Adds New England Truck Series to Its 2012 CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend

Stafford Springs, CT — With the release of a schedule that has seen many new events as well as a few new twists and turns to it, Stafford Motor Speedway has continued to expand its 2012 schedule with the addition of the New England Truck Series to its 40th Annual CARQUEST Fall Final Weekend that is scheduled for Sept. 28-Sept. 30. The New England Truck Series (NETS) will be making only their second ever appearance at Stafford. The trucks were first at Stafford as part of the PRA Big Car Series event in August 2006 that was won by Chris Correll.

"We're excited to be racing at Stafford again," said NETS Director Lorraine Pard. "The competitor feedback we've received has been overwhelmingly positive, no one can believe that we're going to be racing at Stafford again. We've brought the Riverhead trucks into our series, so we have a pretty good truck count and we're trying to help our competitors with cost friendly rules. We handicap our feature lineups from the heat races with the faster truck starting behind the slower trucks, which makes the racing more exciting for everyone and we're looking forward to putting on an exciting show at Stafford."

New England Race Trucks feature fiberglass bodies that replicate Ford F150, Chevy Silverado, and Dodge Ram Trucks. All trucks are powered by either V-8 Ford 302, Chevy 305, Dodge 318, or the GM 602 & 603 Crate motor program. Each truck has an automatic transmission, ensuring equal power output among the Ford, Chevy, and Dodge makes. All NETS racing engines feature a spec-racing carburetor, manifold, cam, electronic ignition, dual reservoir master brake cylinders for adjustable brake bias, racing coil springs front and rear, and steel bodied racing shocks. Custom upper A-arms and wedge jack bolts provide adjustment according to track length and surface.

Truck Night Winner Corey Coates at Waterford

Waterford, CT — NETS driver Corey Coates of Ledyard CT. takes his third win of the 2011 New England Truck Series season at the Waterford Speedbowl Truck Night 50 lap race Saturday July 23rd with plenty of fans in the stands in the hot weather.

With the blistering humid days prior to Saturdays race at the speed bowl, the atmosphere remained calm in the pits with teams and drivers trying to stay cool for the days scheduled practice and heat events planned.

NETS drivers and teams were showcased on the Midway Autograph Session with trucks displayed along with some Nostalgic trucks for fans to enjoy while getting autographs and chit chatting with drivers.

On the pole for the feature: Derek Chriss (12) with Bert Ouellette (15) on the out side rolled off turn four to the start of the 50 lap feature race. Derek Chriss led through the first eight laps before spinning out of the lead. Duane Noll (2), who was running third, moved up to lead the pack until a competition caution flag waved at halfway. Noll selected a chip to determine an invert order for the second half of the race, selecting to invert all the lead lap Trucks. That moved Noll and Coates (75), who was in second, to the rear of the running order when racing resumed.

Andy Lindeman Wins NETS Feature at Monadnock

Winchester, NH — Andy Lindeman of Poestenkill NY, driving the # 3 Dawson’s Towing sponsored Chevy truck, wins the New England Truck Series feature event at Monadnock Speedway Saturday July 9th tightening up the points battle.

The 25 lap feature event starting lineup on the pole, Derek Chriss of Averill Park, NY driving the #12 Chevy truck sponsored by Dawn Engwer Wholesale Florist, on the outside, Bert Ouellette of Dayville, CT in the #15 Ford truck sponsored by Sundeen Furniture led the field. At the drop of the green flag, Chriss led the pack into turn one with Lindeman moving from fourth to second in the first lap and then taking the lead from Chriss on lap six.

With Lindeman pulling away from the pack the battle was for second. Chriss, and Rookie Jason Lafayette of Somers, CT driving the #21X Chevy truck sponsored by Pete‘s Car Star, along with Duane Noll of Monroe, CT the #2 truck sponsored by Sparkling Angels Cleaning battled for the position.

At the halfway mark, Chriss held onto second with Noll in third. Rookie Corey Coates of Ledyard , CT #75 sponsored R+G Seal Coating Chevy held onto fourth with Lafayette in fifth. By lap seventeen, the #38 of Rookie Ronnie Oldham of Westbrook, CT sponsored Trans Shoreline Quick Lube Ford moved up to sixth position with continuing mechanical issues. On lap nineteen, the #0 of Howard Hurricane Payne of Shelton CT, sponsored NEATV Motorcross Chevy truck retired to the infield ending his night with failed mechanical issues. The last lap of the race battle for second and third positions was on in turns three and four when Noll made his move to take second while Coates push on thru from fifth to take the third place finish of the race.

Avery Wins First New England Truck Series Race

Waterford, CT — Jonathon Avery (17) of Quakerhill CT, claimed his first win at his home track, Waterford Speedbowl on Saturday June 18 in the New England Truck Series feature event.
Seven divisions of racing was slated for the night, including a Scout Night Pit Party which multiple teams and race vehicles were displayed on the track front stretch for fans to enjoy up close with autographs and one on one time with racers. Starting lineup for the truck feature event on the pole, (38) Ronnie Oldham Jr. with (12) Derek Chriss on the outside started the 25 lap race to a smooth green flag start. Oldham took the lead and ran with it while (22) Chapman moved to second position with (3) Lindeman in tow. By lap eight (83) Perry moved up to fifth behind Chriss dropping (0) Payne to sixth position and (15) Bert Ouellette dropping to the back of the field with handling issues. Caution comes out on lap nine, contact between Chriss and Perry.
A second contact under caution sends Chriss to the pits and done for the night. Payne also goes to the pits but returns to racing at the end of the field. Lap ten, Oldham takes the lead again with Chapman at his door. By half way, (17) Avery has moved up to fourth position with Perry, and (21X) Jason Lafayette in pursuit. By lap 20, Coates moves up to the fifth position, (2) Duane Noll holding on to eighth with handing issues and Rookie (90) Nate Bubello holding ninth position. With two laps to go, Avery makes his move on Oldham and takes over the lead to bring home the checkered flag win.

Waterford, CT — Waterford Speedbowl returned to action with a busy night on Saturday, hosting Whelen Engineering Night. All five NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions were in action, plus the visiting New England Truck Series. A held-over SK Modified® feature was also on the program making for a seven event night full of classic action at the shoreline oval in front of a jammed crowd.

Gales Ferry competitor Glenn Pressel III took down his first career win in a held over 35-lap SK Modified® race from May 28, while veteran Jeff Pearl of Salem picked up his 36th career win in the regularly scheduled feature on the night. In Bob Valenti Auto Mall Late Model action, multi-time division champion Bruce Thomas Jr. of Groton returned to the winner’s circle. Chris Meyer of North Franklin won a highly entertaining and competitive Street Stock feature, Chris Williams of Niantic won his second Mini Stock feature on the year and Joe Cipriano of Waterbury was the SK Light Modified race winner. Hometown driver Jonathon Avery of Waterford took the checkered flag in the New England Truck Series feature.

The first 35-lap SK Modified® feature started with a strong field of competitors. Pressel charged out to the early lead from the pole starting position, jumping ahead of Tom Abele Jr. during an opening eight-lap charge. Tucker Reynolds Jr., Matt Gallo and Tyler Chadwick were part of the early top-five when the first caution waved as Adam Gada and Jeff Pearl found trouble in turn four on lap-8.

Rookie Coates Wins the NETS NH Race

Winchester NH- The New England Truck Series made their first appearance Saturday night June 4 th at the famed Thunder on the Mountain Monadnock Speedway with many spectators in the stands, blue skies, and no rain in site for the night’s events.

NETS twenty-five lap feature race started with Rookie driver Bert Ouellette on the pole along side veteran driver Keith Chapman on the outside, rolling off turn four to a green flag start.

On lap two, Ouellette spins in turn two bringing out the first caution with Chapman dropping back to fourth position. The #38 Ford of Ronnie Oldham, then retired to the infield with mechanical issues ending his night. On lap three, Andy Lindeman takes first position followed by Gee Perry and in tow Corey Coates, races by the start finish line gaining momentum closing up the field. By lap ten, the second caution comes out with a spin in turn one with Ouellette.

Hurricane Payne Takes NETS Checkered Flag

Lowell, MA — Hurricane Howard Payne of Shelton CT, takes the win from Truck Champion Lindeman in the 25-Lap New England Truck Series feature race last Saturday night at the Waterford Speedbowl. Andy Lindeman #3 of Poestenkill, New York and Derek Chriss #12 of Averill New York led the eleven truck field to the green flag start. Lindeman took the lead with Chriss and Keith Chapman #22 of Mystic CT in tow along with Duane Noll #2 of Monroe CT.

By lap ten, the first caution came out with Bert Ouellette #15 of Dayville CT, Ronnie Oldham Jr #38 of Westbrook CT, and Nate Bubello #90 of Holliston MA, all involved in turn one. By lap thirteen, Rookie driver Corey Coates #75 of Ledyard CT, pulls out the next caution with a front flat.

On lap seventeen, the last caution comes out with Oldham, Ouellette, Bubello, Coates and the 21x of Jason Lafayette of Somers CT , which closed up the field. Payne #0 starting last, moved up to the second starting position on the restart and took the lead on lap eighteen.

Coates Wins NETS Blastoff Weekend Race

Lowell MA — Corey Coates # 75 from Ledyard CT, dominated the 25-lap main event as part of the Waterford Speedbowl’s season-opening Budweiser Blastoff event. The win was the rookie driver’s first in the New England Truck Series.

Keith Chapman #22 from Mystic CT and Derek Chriss #12 from Averill NY, led the ten truck field to post. Chriss got the advantage on the start, pacing the field for the first six circuits. Bert Ouellette #15 truck from Dayville CT, retired from the race on lap four with a blown rear end. On the seventh-go-around, Coates was able to motor his way around Chriss, having advanced from his fifth starting position. As Coates became the new race leader, Jason Lafayette #21X from Somers CT, went pit side with a engine problem.

Howard Payne #0 truck from Shelton, CT and Ronnie Oldham #38 from Westbrook, CT continued their charge to the front.

NETS Racing New England Style in 2011

The New England Truck Series Director Lorraine Pard, has announced NETS 12 race set schedule for the 2011 season. The track lineups include Monadnock Speedway NH, Thompson International Speedway CT, and Waterford Speedbowl CT.

Pard states, “This season’s race schedule is condensed to gear it towards racers and teams economic needs in today’s economy.” The announced line-up features a debut to Waterford, CT. Speedbowl for the tracks season opener April 1-3 Budweiser Blastoff Weekend. The former A.B. CDL Driving Training Center Truck Division at Waterford has merged with the New England Truck Series (NETS) in an effort to keep the trucks a solid part of the tracks 2011 program and produce more exciting racing for the NETS touring division. The A.B. CDL Driving Training Center coordinating with Waterford Speedbowl is currently planning to continue to be a supporting factor to the truck series for this upcoming season. NETS will return to Waterford Speedbowl April 30.

Saturday May 21, Armed Forces Day at Monadnock Speedway will be NETS first race of this season in NH, and returning on June 4 for the second time. June 18, NETS returns to the Waterford Speedbowl in CT. July 9 th and August 6 th continues the summer visits at Monadnock with the finale on September 17 th . July 23 NETS 50 lap race will be held at Waterford Speedbowl, and finishing the bowl season at the finale on October 7-8. Thompson Speedway first race is TBA with the World Series October 14-16 being NETS Championship race of 2011.

NETS 2010 Champion Andy Lindeman, Crowned Along with Monadnock NASCAR Champions

The New England Truck Series joined in with Monadnock Speedway Competitors, Car Owners, and Race Teams on Saturday, November 20th, at the Log Cabin located in Holyoke, Ma to celebrate the 2010 race season and officially crown the champions with 400 people in attendance to reflect on the season. Michelle Cloutier, the speedway’s General Manager, welcomed the race teams and thanked all of them for their dedication and support throughout the 2010 season even in these tough economic times.

She also addressed the teams on how they all work together to make the speedway one of the best and most competitive short track in the East.

Accepting in the top ten awards (2nd through 10th) were 4-cylinder Enduros, Full Size Enduros, New England Race Trucks, Mini Stocks, Super Stocks, Outlaw Pros, Sportsman Modifieds and Tour Type Modifieds. NETS eligible final points finish, starting fifth- Derek Chriss NY, fourth – Greg Butler Jr. CT, third- Willy Auchmoody NY, and second, Gee Perry from CT. Rookie of the year was awarded to Craig Cashman NH.
